Story
Meet Chocolate! Chocolate, Choco for short, is a spunky and loving little dude that is looking for his forever home. He weighs about 18# and is considered a small breed dog. He was neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Choco is currently living in a foster home with a big female lab that is 5x my size, but he is not intimidated at all. In fact, they are becoming pals and sharing toys. Choco is full of energy and loves to play, but tends to calm down if those around him stay calm. He is very affectionate and loves attention. He understands what “No” means, and if he hears that word, he stops what he is doing and comes back to the boss’s side of the chair for a little pat of appreciation. Come, Sit, Stay, Outside, and This Way are all commands that his foster dad has been teaching he is starting to understand what those mean. He is just a little inexperienced in the ways of the world and it will take some work for him to become the best dog he can be. Choco does not like being alone and this needs work. He needs to be safely crated when he is alone or he will find things to chew on - socks, shoes etc. Choco is also an escape artist and needs a fully fenced secure yard. He is being crate trained and is doing well but needs more work. He sleeps in his crate at night. His potty training is going well too. Choco is extremely food and treat motivated, and will do anything for a treat. He is no couch potato and needs an active person or family who will take him on lots of adventures. He loves going for walks and is still working on walking skills - walking in a straight line can be hard... Choco will do best in a home with another playful dog, a secure yard and kids over 10. Choco is neutered, vaccinated and chipped. His adoption fee is $450. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
