Story
Chester is a little over a year old Jack Russell mix who is neutered, potty trained, crate trained, and ready to find his forever people! This sweet boy is a true Velcro dog—he wants to be wherever his people are and is happiest when he’s snuggled up next to his favorite humans on the couch or curled up beside them in bed.
Chester is definitely a lover, but he’s also a sensitive guy who needs a little time to feel comfortable in new and unfamiliar situations. New places, new people, and new experiences can be a little overwhelming for him at first. He’s still figuring out his surroundings and building his confidence, but he gets a little more comfortable each day. Once he knows he’s safe, his sweet personality really starts to shine.
When Chester is feeling cozy, you can usually find him burrowed under a blanket, snuggled up on a pillow, or curled up in a comfy dog bed. Basically, if there’s a soft spot available, Chester would like to claim it.
Chester came into rescue with his girlfriend, Jolene, and their three puppies: Ace, Ashe, and Love Love. He has been through a lot of change, so it’s understandable that he needs some time and patience as he adjusts to his new life.
His perfect family will be someone who understands that confidence doesn't happen overnight and is willing to let Chester come out of his shell at his own pace. He doesn’t need someone to rush him—he needs someone who will give him patience, reassurance, consistency, and lots of love. With time, he’ll learn that he’s safe and that his people are there to stay.
If you’re looking for a sweet little shadow who will happily follow you around and then curl up beside you for a cozy nap, Chester might be the pup for you! He’s ready for a patient family who will give him the time he needs to blossom into the confident, happy companion we know he can be.
