Story
Meet Squash! Squash a seven year old, 27 pound Boston Terrier.
Squash is like a little teddy bear. He's just so sweet and loves to be cuddled. He's a real couch potato and doesn't have much interest in playing. While he's missing a lot of his teeth, he likes to chew on anything soft that he can find. He needs to have his own soft toy or he may take your slippers, blanket or whatever else instead.
Squash is shy and is slowly learning to adapt to his new environment, slowly working to be brave enough to climb up and down stairs! He does well on the leash and is really good on walks, though can be skittish around strangers.
Squash gets along with children, other dogs and cats. He is also housetrained. If you're looking for a low energy cuddle bug, apply to adopt Squash!
Squash is being fostered in Staten Island. His adoption fee is $600.
Squash is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
