Story
Welcome Monica to CCPAL Rescue. Monica is a 2 year old Flat Coated Fox Terrier/Italian Greyhound is our best guess. She is a mix of breeds we are sure. She weighs about 15 pounds. She was found on the street big and pregnant. Her pups all look very different. Some are fluffy and some are not. She is a wonderful dog. She doesn’t jump up, is good with other dogs, good in a crate and good on a leash. She is also nice in her kennel and was the very best and most attentive momma. She isn’t very vocal which is wonderful and would make an easy dog to bring into some family. She has weaned her pups and will be spayed soon and ready for her very own forever home. She does her business outside on a leash and she is just the most wonderful dog. Some dogs are easy in Rescue and she is one of those dogs. She is in Texas with the CCPAL Rescue. She would be a great walking or jogging companion due to her long legs. She is a moderate to low shedding dog. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See her cute video

Story
Hello! My name is Mongdol, and I'm an 8kg, 7-month-old little boy looking for my forever family. Not too long ago, my brother and I were found wandering alone on a quiet country road. We were rescued together, and my brother has already found his forever home. Now it's my turn to find a family who will love me for the rest of my life. Since I'm still just a puppy, I absolutely love people and other dogs! I get excited to meet new friends and enjoy playing with canine buddies. I also love going for walks and exploring the world around me. Every day is a new adventure, and I can't wait to discover it with my future family. Because I'm only seven months old, I have lots of puppy energy! I love to play, and like any growing puppy, I'm in the stage where I explore the world by chewing and investigating everything around me. I'll need plenty of fun toys, exercise, and patient guidance to help me grow into a well-mannered adult dog. I'm eager to learn—I just need someone willing to teach me with kindness and consistency. Since I'm still young, I may develop separation anxiety if I'm left alone for long periods without preparation. If my new family helps me gradually learn that alone time is safe, I'll become much more confident and independent. I'm doing very well with my potty training! Of course, moving to a brand-new home can be a little overwhelming, so I might have an occasional accident while I'm adjusting. Once I settle into my new routine, I learn quickly and do my best. One little thing about me—I drink a bit more water than most dogs, so I need to go outside to potty more often. Right now, I'm healthy and doing great! I currently eat an insect-protein diet, and I'm not picky at all when it comes to treats. If you have snacks, I promise I'll be your biggest fan! I'm still learning about this big world, so I don't need a family expecting perfection. What I really need is a family that will grow with me, celebrate my progress, and love me through every stage of my life. The cute little puppy you see today will grow into a wonderful lifelong companion, and I'd love for you to be part of that journey. My brother already found his happily ever after, and now I'm patiently waiting for mine. I dream of a home where we can go on adventures together, play with my favorite toys, cuddle after a fun day, and make wonderful memories for years to come. I may be a playful little rascal now, but with love, patience, and guidance, I'll grow into the loyal best friend you've always dreamed of.

Story
Hi, I'm Vanilla! 🐶✨ A little lovebug with a big heart, ready to start a brand new chapter — maybe with you? I'm a 2-year-old girl, full of energy, love, and second chances. I didn’t always have it easy — I was left behind at an oyster factory in Tongyeong, forgotten and alone. Even after having four puppies, no one looked out for me… but that’s all in the past now. I was rescued, and ever since, I've been learning how beautiful life can be when you’re loved. Now I know how to trust, how to play, and most of all — how to love back. I’ve even picked up some smart tricks like “sit,” “paw,” and “go to your house!” Not bad, right? I’m super friendly and absolutely adore people — men and women alike. I haven’t met many young children yet, and since I’m pretty bouncy and energetic, I might do best with older kids who can match my vibe. Other dogs? LOVE them. I get excited to meet new furry friends and will happily introduce myself first! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I can’t say how we’d get along, but I don’t have any aggression or prey drive — I’m more about snuggles and zoomies than anything else. I’m still working on leash training, and I’m not totally used to living indoors yet, but I’m a quick learner. If you show me the way, I’ll follow. I’m a good girl with my barking, too — I might bark when someone new comes in or if I’m really excited, but if you say “no,” I usually settle down quickly. I love being touched, hugged, and cuddled, especially by women. I’ll even give you gentle hugs to show you how much I care. With male guardians, I’m respectful — if you’re not in the mood for snuggles, I’ll understand and give you space. I enjoy toys but I don’t destroy things in the house, and I’m not possessive over food or toys either. Sharing is caring, right? Health-wise, I’m in great shape — no major illnesses in my past, just a whole lot of resilience and a heart full of love. Now all that’s missing is a forever family. A warm home. A couch to cuddle on. A person — or people — who will never leave me behind again. Could that be you? I’m ready to be your joy, your companion, and your sunshine. Let’s write our story together. 💛 With love, Vanilla

Story
My name is Lucas, and I’m a 4-year-old male Jack Russell Terrier × Welsh mix weighing around 10kg. I have a compact, sturdy body — but my short little legs are what everyone notices first. People often say I look extra adorable when I walk, and I think it’s because every step I take naturally makes people smile. 😊 For a long time, I lived in a shelter. I was rescued just before euthanasia, and since then I’ve been given a second chance at life. Now I’m staying in a training facility where I’m slowly learning what the world is like outside the shelter. Everything still feels new to me — other dogs playing freely, interesting smells on walks, toys, and especially kind human attention. It’s almost like I’m finally experiencing what it means to just be a dog. Because I’m discovering so much for the first time, I get very curious about everything around me. But there are also things I still need help understanding. Sometimes, if a hand suddenly reaches over my head or someone touches me unexpectedly, I can get scared and react defensively. In those moments, it may look like I’m trying to bite, but it’s really just fear — a way for me to protect myself when I feel unsure. When people take time to approach me gently, that behavior becomes much less, and my true personality starts to show. Because deep down… I’m actually a very sweet and affectionate boy. 💛 I just need time. What I need most is not quick bonding, but patience and understanding. If you let me come to you at my own pace instead of forcing touch or rushing interactions, I will slowly begin to trust you. It helps a lot when people approach me from the side or below rather than reaching over my head, and when they use calm voices and positive experiences to help me feel safe. Once I trust someone, I become a completely different dog — I love attention, I follow my person around, and I show a very affectionate and playful side. I also need time to adjust because I haven’t really experienced normal home life before. A house, daily routines, leash walking in neighborhoods, being alone for short periods, and house training — all of these are still new to me. At first, I may feel nervous or make mistakes, but that’s not bad behavior. It’s just me learning how to live in a home. What helps me grow is guidance, not punishment. With a stable routine, regular walks, and positive reinforcement, I can gradually build confidence and feel more secure. I’m smart and curious, and with the right support, I learn step by step at my own pace. In the beginning, it’s really important for me to have a calm environment and not too much overwhelming stimulation. If I’m given space and time to feel safe, I will slowly open my heart. And when I do, I will stay by your side with all my loyalty and love. I may not be the easiest dog at first, but I promise I have a heart that is ready to love deeply once I feel safe. I’m Lucas — a small dog with short legs, a long journey behind me, and a big hope for a forever family who will understand me and walk with me at my own pace. 🐾 Lucas
