Story
We're looking for a loving forever home for Mocha. She is approximately 8 months old and is: 🐱 Sweet, affectionate, and very smart ✅ Spayed 🩺 Healthy, with a recent veterinary checkup 💉 Has received her first set of vaccinations 🏡 Litter-trained She would do best as the only pet in the home, as she does not get along well with other cats. She deserves a family where she can be the center of attention and receive all the love she has to give. There is no adoption fee—our only goal is to find her a safe, caring, and responsible forever home. If you're interested, please send me a message and tell me a little about yourself and the home you can provide. We'd love to find the perfect match for this sweet girl.

Story
Hi! I’m TORY (DOB: ~01/30/2024), a petite female Snowshoe mix. I apparently grew up in a cat colony and was TNR’d as you can tell by my left clipped ear. FFRS agreed to accept me into their adoption program in order to work on socialization and find me an appropriate home where I could live a safe life inside out of the elements. I am very shy so I need to go to a home with a family who will be patient with me, can live with me as a semi-socialized cat, and give me lots of time to learn to trust them. I am a good girl and would love a chance to be someone’s cherished pet. But just be careful, because I can be a FLIGHT RISK! I am spayed, up-to-date with vaccines, negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, have received flea preventative, and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $150.00.March 7, 2026, 8:40 am

Story
Meet Bugs This beautiful Siamese mix is named Bugs. Bugs was so named because she is an absolute love bug. Bugs is in foster care and not at our shelter. Bugs was very sick as a young 10-week-old kitten. She had botflies and they were eating her alive. Her foster mom had her treated and vaccinated. Bugs is now four months old. She’s healthy and ready to find a forever home. Bugs is a shy, but happy, playful, snuggly kitten. She does great with her foster’s older cats, but she could sure use a playmate of her own age. She loves toys and games and then she loves nothing better than a good snuggle. Bugs has only known her foster mom, but in time with kindness and patience she will open her heart to her purrfect person/family. Her foster mom thinks that Bugs will thrive in a quiet and calm home, one without kids or maybe older children with a set routine and gentle energy because she is still so shy until she gets to know you. Bugs has only known her foster mom. Bugs will be spayed before going home. If interested in adopting this gorgeous girl, please get your application If looking to welcome Bugs to your heart and home, get your application in at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. Please email our shelter (smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net) to make sure we received your application. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet. We require an excellent pet/vet history, and we require every animal in the family to be fully vetted and fixed in order to adopt. If you have an exception, please explain fully in the application. We’ll require a brief home and/or a live Facetime visit. Incomplete or inaccurate applications will not be considered. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Having to rehome Calcifer because I got a new job and travel a lot. I've had him since he was 6 weeks and he's 6 years old now. Calcifer is super vocal, loves going outside on his halter, chasing ice cubes across the floor, and swatting at the faucet water. Calcifer does get overstimulated very easily. He does not like to be pet below the neck, and will bite or scratch if you do. He genuinely only likes to be pet on his terms (loves his ears rubbed). But if you work with him, he's very smart. Let's me cut his nails, but not the vet. Easy to give pills. Has to be sedated for all vet apportionments, but is good in the car. He had some urine issues over a year ago, put him on Hills CD urinary food and haven't had any issues since. Has never peed outside the litter box, doesn't scratch furniture. Has a funny little personality, just very particular.

Story
Hi, I’m Sushi! 🐾 I’m a gorgeous flame point Siamese with a heart of gold to match. I’m a sensitive, intuitive boy—some might even call me an empath. I’m very attached to my mommy, and when she’s stressed… well, I feel it too. I’ve been with my family since I was just a kitten, and I’ve grown up right alongside my mommy through all of life’s changes. Over time, our quiet, calm home turned into a busy, love-filled “circus” with a new baby and three bonus kiddos! While I love my family very much, all the noise and activity has been overwhelming for me, and it’s started to affect my quality of life. My mommy loves me deeply and has spent the last two years trying everything she can to help me feel more comfortable. Making the decision to find me a new home has been incredibly hard for her—but she loves me enough to know I deserve a peaceful, low-stress environment where I can truly thrive. My vet describes me as “aggressively affectionate,” which just means I love BIG. I might give a little love nibble here and there (it’s part of my charm!), and if your face is near me, I’ll absolutely assume you’re asking for headbutts. I would do best in a quiet home, ideally without young children, where I can soak up all the love and attention at my own pace. If you’re looking for a deeply devoted, sensitive companion, I might just be your perfect match. ❤️
