Story
Meet Bailey! Bailey is one of those cats who makes you stop and stare. She has an almost exotic look — possibly a Snowshoe mix — with absolutely stunning coloring and a personality to match. Bailey was pulled from the city shelter earlier this summer and was adopted, but unfortunately returned when she didn’t get along with the resident cat. We think Bailey may do best as an only cat. If she’s going to share her home with another feline, she’ll need an experienced cat person who understands that introductions may take a lot of time, patience, and careful management. At around a year old, Bailey is fully vetted - spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Bailey is beautiful, special, and deserving of a home that will let her settle in at her own pace. Could you be her forever person? Applications can be found on our website outofthewoodsrescue.org

Story
This is Beans, a three-year-old snowshoe saved from a trailer park in Louisiana. No mean bone in his body, never scratched or bites or hisses; however, has extreme people and movement anxiety. Beans is not very social with humans even though you can tell, he wants to be. I believe he is meant to be a farm cat as he shows semi-feral tendencies. I feel so bad that he is afraid of everything. He truly just wants to be fed and left alone. He is not an animal that is meant to be a “pet” or companion. But he is very lovable and sweet and gets along with our Siamese cat perfectly well. We love him so much but we wanna give him a chance at living a happier and comfortable life without being forced to take medication for anxiety that doesn’t really work. I’m hoping someone is looking for a working farm cat to control, mice and other rodents. Beans understand that humans mean food and safety. He is not listed to be rehomed as a family companion.
