Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this. Taco is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with my current owner in San Francisco. Adoption fee applies. Meet Taco: a breathtaking red bicolor Sphynx whose sleek, hairless body and striking markings turn heads everywhere. With an impressive purebred pedigree featuring Russian and Ukrainian Best in Show winners, he’s as regal as he is adorable. But what truly makes Taco unforgettable is his magnetic personality. This boy is pure sunshine wrapped in warm, velvety skin. He’s deeply affectionate, wildly playful, endlessly curious, and completely people-focused. Taco doesn’t just want your attention — he craves it. He thrives when he’s the center of your world, following you from room to room, “helping” with every task, and demanding cuddle sessions on his terms (which is basically all the time). He’s not a big meower; instead, he makes the most endearing little duck-like quacks — a charming “chatter” that Sphynx lovers adore. When Taco feels safe and adored, he blossoms. He bonds fiercely with his favorite person and wants to be part of everything — playtime, chores, movie nights, and especially lap time. He’s entertaining, mischievous in the best way, and incredibly loving. However, this comes with an important requirement: Taco must be the only pet in the home. No other cats. No dogs. No exceptions. In his current home, the difference is night and day. His owner shares: “When the other pets aren’t around, he’s amazing — playful, curious, and so happy. But when they’re present, he hides in his crate most of the day. It’s heartbreaking. He truly needs to be the only pet so he can get all the love and attention he deserves.” Taco does best in a home where someone is present for much of the day. Sphynx cats are highly social and can become anxious or depressed if left alone for long stretches. Special Care Routine Taco is strictly indoor-only, with outdoor time limited to short, fully supervised sun sessions (he loves them!). His pampered care includes: • SPF Bodhi lotion for safe sunbathing • Nightly dental support (Pet Wellbeing liquid + Oxyfresh in drinking water) • Weekly eye care with Vetericyn gel as needed His gourmet diet features Ziwi Peak wet and dry food (beef & blue whiting), with dehydrated quail for breakfast and minnows with dried egg yolk in the evening. In the right home, Taco will flourish into the most devoted, entertaining, and affectionate companion you could imagine. He’s waiting for that special person who understands his need to be the one and only — and is ready to give him the undivided love he craves. Adoption Requirement: No other pets. No exceptions. TACO is: Neutered/Spayed, Vaccinated, Wet Food, Dry Food, Litter Box Perfect Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats (like me) with qualified adopters who will cherish me and create an ideal forever home. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the adoption of this cat through our Owner Placement Program. We take no responsibility for the health and medical records of this cat. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this. Prism is NOT in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home, but residing with my current owner in Petaluma. Adoption fee applies. Meet Prism – A Sweet Chocolate Devon Rex Looking for His Forever Family Prism is a 3½-year-old neutered male Chocolate Devon Rex with a rich, warm chocolate-brown coat that perfectly matches his velvety, wavy fur. Devon Rex cats are often called “pixie cats” or “poodle cats” thanks to their unique elfin features: oversized low-set ears, big expressive eyes, prominent cheekbones, and that soft, curly, suede-like coat that feels wonderful to pet. Unlike many cats, their short wavy fur requires very little grooming—just an occasional wipe with a soft cloth keeps them looking (and feeling) fabulous. This handsome boy is in excellent health and has a personality as special as his looks. Prism is a true purring machine—once he decides you’re safe, the motor runs nonstop! He’s a gentle, sensitive soul who couldn’t hurt a fly, even during playful wrestling. He loves nothing more than waiting by the door for you to come home so he can greet you with affection. Prism is cautious with strangers and may hide at first, but give him about 30 minutes and he’ll venture out to investigate. If you move slowly and gently (no loud voices or sudden grabs), he’ll happily accept pets and quickly warm up. He thrives in smaller, quiet families and is especially happy as an only cat—he prefers to have all the love and attention to himself. While he’s not aggressive toward babies and would never pose a threat, he does get jealous when the spotlight shifts away from him, so he’s best suited for homes without very young children or other pets. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will follow you from room to room, supervise your every activity with big curious eyes, and reward you with endless purrs, Prism might be the perfect match. He’s a sweet, sensitive boy who just needs a patient, understanding family ready to give him the time and love he deserves. Ready to welcome a pixie-like purr machine into your home? Apply today to meet Prism! Story
It is quite a surprise to find a Devon Rex in rescue. In 18 yrs of fostering I have only had one other. ( Darling Edna) When my local shelter called me about her I was there in minutes. A breeder had surrendered five young cats to the shelter, a Devon and four Ragdolls, all female, none spayed, and one we decided was probably pregnant. I named this vivid calico treasure Alice right away. She is little - 6.2 pounds. Curled up to sleep she looks like a largish, colorful cantaloupe. Quite the entertainer, she settled right in with us -nothing that has happened in her life has seemed to slow her down at all. This is typical of Devons; they are smart, active, extremely playful kitties. Alice's long legs and big feet make her a great jumper (sometimes Devons are found snoozing on the top of a open door). They are trainable kitties and often play games like fetch with their owners.Their active minds match their active bodies and they like entertaining challenges. Devons are good family cats and generally like children and other pets. Alice has probably been around many kitties and plays happily with the ones she arrived with so I am looking for a home with other kitties for her. She would probably love a bouncy dog. Do you know where Devons came from?? They came from Devon, England of course. No, they are not related at all to Cornish Rexes. A woman in Devon had a kitty who had a spontaneous mutation that produced unusual, eccentric wavy fur. She started a new breed that was recognized by the U.S. Cat Fancy Assn in 1979. Devons have triangular heads with extra big, low set ears and big eyes. Their fur is thin, not dense, and has almost no long guard hairs. It does its own thing. People enjoy Devons because they are all different and all highly odd. Devon Rexes are a low maintenance kitty and not only do not need much grooming they actually do better without much brushing. Their soft hair can easily break and exuberant grooming can create unwanted bare patches. A gentle wipe down with a damp cloth once a week is all they need. This little ball of energy is great fun. Some family will be so lucky to have her company. She currently wiggles a lot if you hold her but other than that she loves being petted. Do you work in the home or are you retired? Do you have lots of time to play with her? She will be such an entertaining companion for some lucky family. P.S. She has a microchip in her that tells us she is likely from Ukraine or Russia. Alice is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, microchipped, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect. She is fostered by Harriet in Santa Cruz. Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is dedicated to matching exceptional cats with qualified adopters who will cherish their pet and create an ideal forever home. If you believe you are the perfect adopter for Alice please tell us why in the comments section of our Adoption Application, and contact Harriet at harrietluvskitties@yahoo.com If you are unable to reach Harriet please email us at info@purebredsplus.org. NOTE: We prefer families with children bring them to the adoption appointment. Why? This allows interaction between the children and the cat. This helps ensure they will be a good fit for each other.
