Mabel is an 11-month-old spayed female Sphynx. She is an affectionate, social, and playful cat looking for a loving home where she can receive plenty of attention and companionship.
Mabel is a very people-oriented cat who loves being close to her humans. She enjoys curling up in laps, climbing onto shoulders or chests, rubbing her face against you, and gently tapping your face with her paws while purring. She is also very playful and energetic. She loves teaser wand toys and laser pointers and will chase them enthusiastically. She also enjoys watching the TV screen and trying to catch moving objects on it.
Mabel is extremely social with other cats, perhaps to a fault. She can be a little too eager when introducing herself and has occasionally been on the receiving end of a swat or two while getting acquainted with our resident cat. She means well. Because of her social nature, Mabel would thrive in a home with another young, friendly cat who can keep her company while her humans are away.
Mabel is very food motivated and loves to eat. This also means she is curious and may try to nibble on things such as plastic bags, styrofoam, or human food, so it is best to keep tempting items out of reach. Her interest in food also makes her very engaged during interactive play, and she has even fetched small toys on occasion.
Like most Sphynx cats, Mabel loves warmth. If a warm human is unavailable, she can often be found curled up beside a radiator, wrapped in blankets, or burrowed under covers. Any warm spot quickly becomes her favourite place.
Mabel thrives on companionship and attention. She would do best in a home where someone is around often to give her affection and playtime, there is another friendly young cat to keep her company when humans are away, and her family is comfortable with the extra grooming and care that Sphynx cats require. She has not lived with children or dogs yet, but given her gentle and social personality she would likely do well with friendly and respectful animals and people.
