Story
How's this for something different? Sphynx! These wonders of the world are now ready for their fur-ever home. This mother and son duo are inseparable, and must live together in their new home. Lucille is 3 years old, and Negin is still just a kitten! Neither has been tested with kids or with dogs, but seem to do okay with other cats after proper introductions. Lucille is very sweet and personable. She is interested in other cats, but can be a bit wary at first. This lovely lady will play and cuddle, the perfect combination! In her downtime, Lucille loves cat-safe heating pads, and she might even snuggle and nap under a cozy blanket with you! Here's a new one... have you ever met a cat with a favourite colour? Lucille LOVES purple. All the purple toys in her foster home are her favourites, and always the ones she plays with first. She plays fetch tirelessly when she is in the mood. Negin is both playful and goofy, giving his family the giggles with his antics. He is extremely sweet and full of kitten energy. Everything is a toy to him! He does nip sometimes, and is still learning that toes are not toys. He loves snuggles and attention, and he is quick to purr! He is extremely outgoing and has a BIG voice with lots of opinions... mostly about food and how much attention he's getting - did we mention he loves attention? He is confused by dry treats, but is a big fan of tube treats! Both Lucille and Negin are on gastro food, which should be maintained in order to keep them both healthy and comfortable. Negin had a bad upper respiratory infection from birth until he was about 14 weeks old. He still has a mild wheeze, which does not affect him, but should be monitored. Lucille also has a history of upper respiratory infections, and while in foster care has had the occasional mild flare. Since finishing their round of meds, these two have been doing amazing! Potential adopters will need to be familiar with the extra care that Sphynx cats need. As hairless cats, they need special care and require dedicated time for their grooming. They will regularly need ears, nails, and nail beds cleaned. They will also need baths to remove excess oil and look after their skin. Sphynx skin creates a lot of oil and without hair, the oil builds up. They can leave oil stains on lighter sheets, blankets, cat beds, etc. Potential adopters MUST do research about the breed. Although they are beautiful and unique cats, they are more work than a furry kitty. If you are up for the challenge, you will be rewarded in spades with love and affection!
