Weight: 67.5 kg (148.5 lb)A little bit about me: - cats / small animals unknown, all interactions should be supervised by an adult - older children recommended due to size and strength, all interactions should be supervised by an adult - potential for select dog in home pending successful dog-to-dogWow it's my lucky day! I get to meet more people?? The name's Boomer, and I'm so glad to meet you! I'm a big, BIG friendly boy that loves to meet people, and can get pretty excited while doing so. With this in mind, I'd do best in a home without small children so that I don't accidentally knock them over due to my size and strength! My future family would also help me learn that, while I can say hi to strangers, I shouldn't be jumping up to do so! Speaking of which, even though my breed is notorious for being lazy, I actually still have a lot of energy! So that means I'll need lots of playtime and enriching activities to help keep me active. You could even look into the training courses that CHS offers; we can have time to bond and have fun at the same time! It's not known how I would do around cats or other smaller animals, but I've played well with other dogs before, and may even do well with a canine companion in the home! So what are you waiting for? I can't wait to meet you!

Petey ID # OS20230526 Estimated Birth Date: September 2022Sex: Male (His neuter surgery will be covered by BARCs at one of BARCs’ veterinary partners)Estimated Breed: St Berdoodle mixWeight: UnknownGood with dogs?: YesGood with cats?: UnknownGood with children?: Yes, but older children due to his puppy excitementSpecial/Medical Needs: NoneEnergy Level: HighCurrent Location: Edmonton, AB Adoption fee: $725     Hi, my name is Petey, and I am a 9-month-old St Berdoodle. I am a super loving big guy who truly loves affection from my people! I am still a puppy who I still have puppy energy. I am working on my manners and have learned the basic but could still use some puppy training. Because I am higher energy and still a puppy it is recommend that I go to a home with older children as I could knock over the younger ones when I’m really excited.   I am proud to say that I am already house, and crate trained, and I do really well on a leash. My foster family told me that’s a big deal! I love to play, and I am currently learning how to fetch! I currently live with a German Shepherd, and we are getting along quite well. I haven’t been around cats yet so I’m not too sure how I feel about them. I’ve had a rough start to life, and due to that I can be a bit timid at first, but once I know I am safe with you I will warm up very fast! My foster parents told me I am coming out of my shell, not too sure what that means, but it sounds like a good thing! They also said I have a wonderful personality and will be sure to make you laugh. I’m looking for my furever family, and I can’t wait to find them. If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application on the link below. I can’t wait to meet you! With love, Petey. <3  ##1730092##

Story
Hello! My name is George (my friends call me Georgie)! I have had a bit of a rough go, but I am still the most loving guy - it takes a lot to beat me down. I have an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold. I would love a big backyard to run around in and a cozy space to cuddle in when I'm ready to chill. I haven't had the chance to try many of these Rocky Mountain sports yet, but I imagine hiking up some peaks would be right up my alley! The staff are impressed with my leash skills (switching to a harness really helped) and they all agree I am a gentle guy who just needs somewhere safe to call my own. I used to be nervous around certain people upon first meeting (particularly in my room), but now that I'm settled in here and know I'm safe, I've learned to love making lots of new friends! While in the shelter, my happy-go-lucky puppy side has really emerged, and the staff have loved watching my playful, carefree attitude come out. I love toys, and when you come into my room I will usually grab one to proudly show you. I've decided I was probably a lap dog in a past life, so I hope you're ready for me to crawl right onto you for snuggles! Crates are a trigger for me, so a I would prefer we work on a different option, like my own room as a "safe space" or some training for if there are times I may need my own space to decompress. I have lived with kids, and I think another dog could be a possibility! I am excited to get a fresh start and find a home where I can finally be part of the family - I swear I won't disappoint! Interested?! Please fill out our adoption application and submit to adopt@bowvalleyspca.org. Upon approval you will be contacted to arrange an appointment time to come meet me!
