MEET CHARLY!AVAILABLE NOW BUT IF STILL SEEKING MY FUREVER FAMILY - MEET ME AT THE PAWS, PAlS, AND PET SUPPLIES PLUS ADOPTION EVENT ON SUNDAY MAY 18 FROM NOON-3PM, LOCATED AT MEADOW BROOK AMPHITHEATRE (on the campus of Oakland University) 160 FESTIVAL DRIVE, ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 48309! Breed: Saint BernardAge: 10 monthsWeight: 91 lbs Charly was surrendered by his previous owner after he grew too large for the small space of a mobile home. Though his former owner loved him, Charly’s XL size and energy level became overwhelming in such a confined space. Despite this, Charly remains a sweet and social boy who adores people and has never met a stranger. He’s ready to find a new family who can provide the space, exercise, and love he needs to thrive. Personality: Social & Affectionate: Charly is an outgoing pup who loves everyone he meets. He’s sweet, affectionate, and has a gentle nature with people. He truly thinks he’s a lap dog despite his giant size and loves to be around his humans. Active & Playful: This big boy is full of energy! Charly loves to play with toys, enjoys fetch, and has a great time running around. He will need an active family who can keep up with his size and energy levels. Food Motivated & Trainable: Charly is very food motivated, which makes him eager to learn new things. He already knows "Sit" and is working on his manners, particularly in not jumping up out of excitement. Special Considerations: Size & Space: Charly is an XL puppy, and with that comes the need for a large, spacious living environment. He will need a physically fenced yard where he can run and play safely. As he’s still young and growing, he will need plenty of space to move around. Leash Training & Pulling: Charly pulls on leash walks, so a physical fenced yard will be essential for now while he continues to work on improving his leash manners. Children & Other Pets: Charly has lived with children and done well but would do best in a home with older kids who can handle his exuberance without being knocked over. He has also done well with dogs that are tolerant of his size and energy, but he tends to be a little too much for small breed dogs or older dogs. He also likes to chase cats so a home with resident felines is NOT recommended. Important Needs: XL Breed Experience: As a Saint Bernard, Charly is an extra-large breed with specific needs. His new family should have experience with large breeds and be prepared for the commitment that comes with his size. Regular Grooming & Care: Charly will need regular grooming to keep his coat healthy and to prevent matting. Additionally, his new family should be financially stable to provide for the cost of food, preventative care, and the general expenses associated with caring for a large dog. Active Lifestyle: Charly will thrive with an active family who enjoys playing, walking, and keeping him mentally and physically engaged. A family with experience handling high-energy, large dogs would be ideal. Charly is looking for a home with a large, spacious living environment, ideally with a securely fenced yard where he can burn off some of his energy. An active family with experience handling XL breeds, who can provide him with consistent training, exercise, and love, will be a perfect match. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will grow into a wonderful family member, Charly might just be the perfect fit for you! A lifetime of love, space to run, and a family that will give him the care and attention he deserves. If you're ready to welcome this gentle giant into your home and offer him the forever love he needs, apply to adopt Charly today! Story
Bernie is an overgrown puppy and about as sweet as can be. He gets along well with a variety of dogs. Sometimes he is unsure of a larger, boisterous dog but with time, he will become more sure of himself. He will need some room to run around and play - a fenced in yard or a dog park (great for building confidence). Bernie is seeking the perfect match of a fun-loving family or an active single person. He will be your best friend.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering.
