Story
Hello!! My name is Annabelle, coming to you from Texas. Here is some information about me: Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix  Age: 1 year  Gender: Female Weight: 35 lbs Height: 15 inches  Rescue Story:  I was found as a stray in Victoria, Texas by my vet! They tried to find my owners but sadly no one came forward. My goofy, playful and energetic self is looking for a new home that can provide me with the time and love I require to live a happy life! Temperament Info:  Although I am high energy, I am gentle with other dogs and when it comes to taking treats from my foster family. I am a very loving, energetic, social and intelligent dog.  My foster say that I barely bark - only playfully twice so far when having fun with the kids. Best home:  Being a high energy pup, I would do best in a home that can provide enough exercise, mental stimulation, and love/time for me. I love playing with other dogs and chewing on Nlyabones, Kongs, and cuddling. I am very smart and have picked up training quickly. I love my treats so I am keen to learn new things anytime you are!!!. As I have not had much attention in my previous life, I want to be close to my human whenever possible.  I have been known to sit on people sometimes just to be as close as I physically can to them!!!  What can I say I love all this new attention but who can blame me. I have no food or toy aggression and I love my crate! I eat my meals and sleep in it.  Overall I am a small, loving, goofy and energetic girl! Do you have space in your heart for me? Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes (however, I want to play with them, which they may not be on board with.) Kids: Yes (no toddlers though, I am high energy and could overpower them, if there are children in the home, I will do best with teenagers).  Prey Drive: Unknown/none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise.  Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.  Training: My foster parent is currently working on training with me and has trained me in: Sit Stay Down Stay  Come Place command (bed), until released Crate command, until released Impulse control: I will sit and wait to be released to and from outside. I wait to be released to eat food as well.  Leash trained: not fully but I still do well naturally on a leash, I just need a bit more training! I am good with boundaries. I know I’m not allowed in the kitchen, on the couch or bed until I am invited to do so.  I am house and crate trained! Health Notes: I am in full health! I came a tad underweight but has since gained some and I am currently at a healthy weight. I did have a cherry eye, but received surgery. It is still a little red, but does not bother me.  I have been spayed and I am up to date on all vaccines and I am microchipped.  Video link: Craft time with Annabelle. https://youtu.be/lmARUR1BU-M Video link: Annabelle's training.  Such a smart pup https://youtu.be/ebRgkxhkEbA Video link: Annabelle outside https://youtu.be/vR9eU-iiZas Video link: Annabelle playing with human brother https://youtu.be/wZkLXWrsRLI My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1835236##

TEMPERAMENT - My rescuer describes me as “extremely noble” and “a dog like an angel”. I am a natural caretaker and very maternal with the puppies at the shelter. I live well with dogs of all sizes and am good with cats and children too! I know that I will be an ideal dog for any loving home. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Here I am on a walk!House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. 🐾 Meet Phoebe Buffay! 🐾 Just like her namesake from Friends, Phoebe Buffay is a delightful and unique spirit with a heart full of love and a penchant for quirky greetings. She's the kind of dog who would sing "Smelly Cat" with her pup twist, and yes, she's just as charmingly eccentric! Phoebe loves to start every day with a "hello" to her pack, with kisses. She's brindle, beautiful, and friendly, making everyone she meets feel like they've been friends forever. Playful and fun-loving, Phoebe enjoys the great outdoors, whether she's frolicking around or engaging in a spirited game of fetch. She's like that episode where everyone's trying to teach her to ride a bike—enthusiastic, a bit clumsy, but utterly endearing. While harmonious with cats, she can't help but engage in a merry chase if they run, adding to her playful, whimsical nature. On the leash, Phoebe is as poised as she is when strumming her guitar in Central Perk. She's also mastered the art of potty training and using a dog door. Car rides aren't her favorite episodes, but she's improving with every trip. When it's time to unwind after a day full of antics, Phoebe loves to curl up on her dog bed, dreaming of her next adventure. She's looking for a forever family that loves a bit of whimsy and a lot of love. Could you be the Monica to her Chandler? The family that finally makes her feel like she's found her "lobster"? If you're ready for laughs, love, and a little bit of the unexpected, Phoebe Buffay is perfect. 🐶❤️ Adoption link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6553ca3c5e9bdea1860790fa If you have any questions email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org Available for adoption to anywhere in the US. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Story
Annabelle has the cutest personality! She is a thick girlie who is just so happy to be wherever you are! We have all heard how black dogs often get over looked when being considered for adoption but I know that wont be the case for Annabelle, she is gorgeous and even the worst lighting couldn’t hide it. She has a thick healthy coat of gorgeous black fur that feels soooo good to pet and makes her so striking! Annabelle is here for the good life, you know, easy strolls and leisurely Sunday mornings. She is great on leash so if you are looking forward to springtime walks through the park or to the farmers market, Annabelle has been waiting for you! From what we have seen, Annabelle is completely house and crate trained. She may need to learn the new routine once she is invited home but this girl is smart and won’t be any trouble. With rescue, age and breed are the two things we have to do a bit of educated guessing with. We believe Annabelle is about a year old, and is some sort of pocket pittie or American bully. And she weighs in at 64lbs and is full grown. This sweet girl is super affectionate and loves nothing more than a good snuggle session with a side of belly rubs. Piglet enjoys bounding around with other dogs or relaxing in the sunshine. I could see Annabelle being absolutely content as an only dog, her person is all she really needs. Seeing her with other dogs though, she would also be perfect for a goofy male who likes a little bit of fun but also knows his way around a good nap. Annabelle was great with all the dogs we introduced her to but was a little too interested when it was time to meet a cat, so none for him. Not everyone is a cat person and that is okay! Her size and love of a good romp around toy session lead me to believe a house with a yard would be best. Apartment life may cramp her fun-loving style. I should warn you, she is fast, not on her legs but she will make the first move and secure that first kiss with hopes it leads to a million more. This love of big love may knock over a little person on accident and she is great with kids but the bigger ones who aren’t so shaky on their legs, 5+ would be perfect! And if you are all about having a dog that knows commands and a few party tricks, Annabelle will work for treats! This girl will quickly learn whatever you show her, but don’t forget all payments are to be made in the form of yummy yums. So if you have the love and a handful of treats, Annabelle has a bus pass and her bag packed! She is ready to join you and your family! Story
This is Freckles, aptly names so for his gorgeous black and white speckled freckled coat. In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Freckles is about 3 years old and is possibly a Staffordshire terrier/ Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs in at 82 lbs so he is bringing big snuggle possibilities. Freckles is an easy-going and confident boy, he leads with a bit of aloofness but that's just his way of checking things out. Once he feels comfortable he will come and check-in for some affection, showing his tail-wagging friendly side. He responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. I can see Freckles being great company for putzing around outside, whether it's some gardening or tending to any ol' thing, Freckles will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way. Walking with Freckles is a breeze! He corrects easily, stays close, and follows commands well. Plus, he's able to walk past unfamiliar dogs without any reactivity, showing his calm, unbothered, personality. We introduced Freckles to multiple dogs and he was easy-going and calm. With time and the right connection he may show a more playful side. He's looking for friends, just needs some time to warm up. He will need some decompression time once he arrives in his new home, just a short period of understanding while he gets settled, but the reward is a loving and affectionate companion Freckles was introduced to our house cat Tom, his interest and overly focused attention tell us he wouldn’t make a good house-mate to a cat. He would likely try to chase a cat and that chaos is nobody’s favorite. In our books, that is perfectly okay! Just like people, not everyone is a cat-lover. Freckles’ dream home? One with a yard to explore and soak up the smells with a sunny spot for mid-day naps. With space to allow him to go out he will be able to show you how content he is by himself when needed. He can entertain himself with just his own company and that is a skill in itself. To sum it up, Freckles is one incredibly cool looking boy, confident and easy-going, good on leash, enjoys company of other dogs, not really a cat-guy, and is looking for his fur-ever home! A hidden gem waiting for the right crew to see him shine. Your patience, understanding, and love, will help Freckles become a cherished member of your family! f you have any questions about Freckles or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions.  **THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT at kpulve@gmail.com ** Meet Maggie May who is a very sweet, incredibly smart, and agile girl! She is spayed, approximately 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds. She is crate and potty trained. She came to us as a stray and she is likely a Pitbull/French Bulldog mix. Maggie is a sweet girl trying to find her pack, and someone with a good understanding of her breeds. She is very curious about activities around the home, and likes to follow around so she doesn’t miss any of the action. She also loves snuggles and belly rubs and is great with dog savvy kids. Maggie will also need a home with a fully fenced yard with a fence that is at least 6 feet tall because this girl jumped over a 4 foot fence already. When she’s outside, Maggie loves to play fetch and run. Her favorite toys are nyla bones, antlers, rope and squeak toys. She would love a playful, active and adventurous family. Camping, trips to the beach and hiking are things that bring her joy.  This little lady needs a home with no cats, but she would enjoy a similarly sized or bigger dog friend to help show her the way. She is also working on her manners a bit, as she can become excited when meeting new people and dogs, especially on leash. Her rehoming fee is negotiable. Maggie has completed 8 weeks of training at Whispering X Canine Academy, and would certainly benefit from another course. As a returning student to Whispering X, Maggie is eligible for a $10 discount on her course fee. She is eligible for the Obedience Level 1, and this course will cover all the things Maggie is still learning.  **THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY.
