Story
Hello!! My name is Annabelle, coming to you from Texas. Here is some information about me: Breed: Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix  Age: 1 year  Gender: Female Weight: 35 lbs Height: 15 inches  Rescue Story:  I was found as a stray in Victoria, Texas by my vet! They tried to find my owners but sadly no one came forward. My goofy, playful and energetic self is looking for a new home that can provide me with the time and love I require to live a happy life! Temperament Info:  Although I am high energy, I am gentle with other dogs and when it comes to taking treats from my foster family. I am a very loving, energetic, social and intelligent dog.  My foster say that I barely bark - only playfully twice so far when having fun with the kids. Best home:  Being a high energy pup, I would do best in a home that can provide enough exercise, mental stimulation, and love/time for me. I love playing with other dogs and chewing on Nlyabones, Kongs, and cuddling. I am very smart and have picked up training quickly. I love my treats so I am keen to learn new things anytime you are!!!. As I have not had much attention in my previous life, I want to be close to my human whenever possible.  I have been known to sit on people sometimes just to be as close as I physically can to them!!!  What can I say I love all this new attention but who can blame me. I have no food or toy aggression and I love my crate! I eat my meals and sleep in it.  Overall I am a small, loving, goofy and energetic girl! Do you have space in your heart for me? Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Yes (however, I want to play with them, which they may not be on board with.) Kids: Yes (no toddlers though, I am high energy and could overpower them, if there are children in the home, I will do best with teenagers).  Prey Drive: Unknown/none observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise.  Fears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.  Training: My foster parent is currently working on training with me and has trained me in: Sit Stay Down Stay  Come Place command (bed), until released Crate command, until released Impulse control: I will sit and wait to be released to and from outside. I wait to be released to eat food as well.  Leash trained: not fully but I still do well naturally on a leash, I just need a bit more training! I am good with boundaries. I know I’m not allowed in the kitchen, on the couch or bed until I am invited to do so.  I am house and crate trained! Health Notes: I am in full health! I came a tad underweight but has since gained some and I am currently at a healthy weight. I did have a cherry eye, but received surgery. It is still a little red, but does not bother me.  I have been spayed and I am up to date on all vaccines and I am microchipped.  Video link: Craft time with Annabelle. https://youtu.be/lmARUR1BU-M Video link: Annabelle's training.  Such a smart pup https://youtu.be/ebRgkxhkEbA Video link: Annabelle outside https://youtu.be/vR9eU-iiZas Video link: Annabelle playing with human brother https://youtu.be/wZkLXWrsRLI My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1835236##

TEMPERAMENT - My rescuer describes me as “extremely noble” and “a dog like an angel”. I am a natural caretaker and very maternal with the puppies at the shelter. I live well with dogs of all sizes and am good with cats and children too! I know that I will be an ideal dog for any loving home. Meet Thumbelina!*CALL THE MAPLE RIDGE CENTRE at 604-463-9511 TO ASK ABOUT MY SPECIAL ADOPTION FEE*This sweet and spunky lady is looking for a fur-ever home to call her own. Thumbelina has stolen the hearts of our staff with her enthusiastic bum wiggles an heart as big as her smile. She is a lovely girl who loves to play as well as settle down to relax with her people. Thumbelina is a pocket-sized powerhouse of energy and enthusiasm. Whether she's racing around the yard with her favorite squeaky toy or curling up in your lap for some cuddle time, she's always eager to be by your side.Of course, like any pup, Thumbelina has her quirks. She's still learning the ropes when it comes to manners and obedience, but with a little patience and guidance, she's sure to blossom into the perfect companion. Thumby loves treats, and is on a bit of a diet in order to get her back to a healthy weight. Thumbelina can be very overzealous in her interactions with other animals, and at times can show jealousy so she would likely do best if she was the only pet in the home. An animal kind trainer may be a great investment for a new guardian, to show this little piggy and her family how to facilitate positive interactions with other animals. One of Thumbelina's greatest strengths is her unwavering loyalty. Once she bonds with her human, she's fiercely devoted and will do anything to make you smile. She's a firm believer that there's no problem too big that can't be solved with a wag of the tail and a loving lick. Despite her short stature, Thumbelina has a big personality that shines bright wherever she goes. With her expressive eyes and endearing antics, she has a way of capturing the hearts of everyone she meets. Whether you're out for a stroll in the park or cozying up on the couch for a movie night, Thumbelina is always the life of the party. If you're interested in this little piggie, apply online today!  **THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. THIS IS A COURTESY POSTING. PLEASE SEND ALL INQUIRIES TO THE OWNER AT at kpulve@gmail.com ** Meet Maggie May who is a very sweet, incredibly smart, and agile girl! She is spayed, approximately 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds. She is crate and potty trained. She came to us as a stray and she is likely a Pitbull/French Bulldog mix. Maggie is a sweet girl trying to find her pack, and someone with a good understanding of her breeds. She is very curious about activities around the home, and likes to follow around so she doesn’t miss any of the action. She also loves snuggles and belly rubs and is great with dog savvy kids. Maggie will also need a home with a fully fenced yard with a fence that is at least 6 feet tall because this girl jumped over a 4 foot fence already. When she’s outside, Maggie loves to play fetch and run. Her favorite toys are nyla bones, antlers, rope and squeak toys. She would love a playful, active and adventurous family. Camping, trips to the beach and hiking are things that bring her joy.  This little lady needs a home with no cats, but she would enjoy a similarly sized or bigger dog friend to help show her the way. She is also working on her manners a bit, as she can become excited when meeting new people and dogs, especially on leash. Her rehoming fee is negotiable. Maggie has completed 8 weeks of training at Whispering X Canine Academy, and would certainly benefit from another course. As a returning student to Whispering X, Maggie is eligible for a $10 discount on her course fee. She is eligible for the Obedience Level 1, and this course will cover all the things Maggie is still learning.  **THIS DOG IS NOT IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. ~~THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT oyoung870@gmail.com  THANK YOU~~ Please meet Stitch. He is a 3-4 year old male, who we believe to be a Staffordshire bull terrier and Shar Pei mix. He is 65ish lbs and is a handsome guy with golden eyes and a brown and white shorthair coat. He is neutered, up to date on his shots and housebroken. He was rescued off the streets in 2022 and we have been working hard to show him how life can be good. He’s come a long way. He does well in our house with our other dog during the day while we work. Stitch loves his routine and he is good with our 10 year old daughter. He’s a big time cuddle buddy and is very affectionate giving lots of kisses. He loves sun bathing and relaxing out in the yard for hours. He is very quiet and rarely barks. He does well in the car and on road trips. And his favorite daily activity is running along side us while we go for bike rides. Stitch walks well on a leash and needs a ride/run or a good walk daily to insure he feels his best. You’ll know if he gets pent up because he makes it clear with his puppy like dance moves and wiggles. Unfortunately Stitch can be dog reactive, and the more the other dog is reactive the worse it is. Mellow dogs are easier for him to ignore. It’s mostly seeing them that interests him. He can be hit and miss with dogs he meets. He sometimes is okay with meeting them and other times not. Stitch is a great dog but needs time to adjust to new people and situations. He needs someone who is experienced and has the time, patience and know how to handle some of his behavioral challenges. Stitch has a high prey drive so we believe cats or small animals would be a bad mix. We also do not know how well he would do with small children. He has some resource guarding issues that we have been working on. I have worked very hard on trying to build trust with him. He likes affection and being petted but is still leary when you try to give him a flea treatment or get a thorn out of his paw etc. We want what’s best for Stich so are hoping we can find a loving, patient home to continue helping him grow into the amazing dog he should have always been allowed to be. Are you his person/people? ~~THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT oyoung870@gmail.com  THANK YOU~~ ##1980801##

Story
🐾 Meet Phoebe Buffay! 🐾 Just like her namesake from Friends, Phoebe Buffay is a delightful and unique spirit with a heart full of love and a penchant for quirky greetings. She's the kind of dog who would sing "Smelly Cat" with her pup twist, and yes, she's just as charmingly eccentric! Phoebe loves to start every day with a "hello" to her pack, with kisses. She's brindle, beautiful, and friendly, making everyone she meets feel like they've been friends forever. Playful and fun-loving, Phoebe enjoys the great outdoors, whether she's frolicking around or engaging in a spirited game of fetch. She's like that episode where everyone's trying to teach her to ride a bike—enthusiastic, a bit clumsy, but utterly endearing. While harmonious with cats, she can't help but engage in a merry chase if they run, adding to her playful, whimsical nature. On the leash, Phoebe is as poised as she is when strumming her guitar in Central Perk. She's also mastered the art of potty training and using a dog door. Car rides aren't her favorite episodes, but she's improving with every trip. When it's time to unwind after a day full of antics, Phoebe loves to curl up on her dog bed, dreaming of her next adventure. She's looking for a forever family that loves a bit of whimsy and a lot of love. Could you be the Monica to her Chandler? The family that finally makes her feel like she's found her "lobster"? If you're ready for laughs, love, and a little bit of the unexpected, Phoebe Buffay is perfect. 🐶❤️ Adoption link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/6553ca3c5e9bdea1860790fa If you have any questions email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org Available for adoption to anywhere in the US. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Story
Ebenezer is one adorable little dude! At only 5 months old and ~25 lbs, he’s already smart as can be and a total love bug! Just one look into those sweet eyes and your heart will turn to mush. In addition to his intoxicating good looks, you’ll also find a silly, goofy boy who loves to keep you smiling and laughing. He loves to play! Ebenezer is very dog social and currently lives with big dogs and small dogs alike. He gets along with them all! He also lives with kids and loves to give them sweet kisses and play with them. He doesn’t have to live with other dogs or kids though. He also knows how to entertain himself by playing with his toys or chasing his own tail. He would do fine being an only pet and just soaking up the love of his pawrents. As he’s still really young, we think he could still learn to live with cats too. Ebenezer is as sweet as they get. He’s such a happy and loving little guy. He will easily fit into just about any home and will make his new family so happy. He’s smart too! He has already figured out how to use puzzle feeders, he’s crate trained, and making great progress in his potty training. He is food motivated and learns quickly, so training should be a breeze! This little guy is such a joy to have around! He is being loved, socialized, and trained in his wonderful foster home, but he is ready for his forever home. He is vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, healthy, and ready to travel to the PNW or East Coast areas. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to add such a wonderful pup to your family!
