Story
Molly Mae is a sweet Staffordshire / Bull Terrier Mix (per her microchip) who I found on February 5 at the intersection of Tucker Avenue and Country Club Rd. She'd been out all night in the snow, almost been hit by cars/trucks a few times. Incredibly friendly with adults and children both on and off the leash (I have not witnessed her interact with very small children or infants), she is house trained and crate trained. She has a microchip, but as I have not been able to reach/find her owners I am unsure about her vaccination history or whether or not she is spayed. Between 1 and 7 years old (I suspect 2-4 years old, but I don't know how to tell), she is about 66 lbs and strong. She does not seem to be very trained, but she is teachable, and fun to walk with a harness. She reacts strongly to other dogs and to cats when on a leash, but has not been tried off leash around other animals. Of note, she LOVES to snuggle. I cannot emphasize that enough.

Story
Meet Cosmopolitan! Cosmopolitan is a 2-year-old, 61-pound gentle girl with a soft, thoughtful nature. She walks nicely on leash with only mild pulling at times and carries a mostly low-energy vibe, though she’ll occasionally surprise you with a playful burst to chase a ball. Toys are still a bit of a mystery to her, but she’s curious and seems interested in figuring them out with the right encouragement. She’s housetrained, rides well in the car, and shows lovely manners—especially around people food, which she respectfully ignores while you eat. She’s very treat motivated, making her a great candidate for continued training. She can be a little snatchy when taking treats, so offering them on a flat palm helps her succeed. She also has the most endearing little grunts and snorts that add extra charm to her already lovable personality. Cosmopolitan is affectionate and truly enjoys closeness, happily cuddling on the couch once she feels safe. She seems to be new to the idea of being a cherished indoor companion and is still getting used to all the perks that come with being a loved pet, which makes watching her blossom all the more special. She can be timid and unsure in a home environment at first, so she’d thrive with an experienced owner who understands decompression time, reads canine body language well, and can support her as she builds confidence. She communicates clearly when she’s uncomfortable and does best with someone who respects her signals and helps her feel secure. Because of her sensitive nature, she likely wouldn’t enjoy busy, high-traffic public spaces. For someone patient and understanding, Cosmopolitan will be an incredibly rewarding companion—a tender, loving girl ready to blossom in a calm and caring home. As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. To meet your new pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!

Story
Simba is a sweetheart, around 2 years old (estimated). He was found on the road last year by a friend and we took him in as a foster to see if we could make it work. We got him fixed and microchipped, and he is UTD on everything vaccine wise (I believe he is due for an updated rabies soon). He is great with my small dogs, but wants to chase cats and squirrels. He has a lot of energy and just needs someone that can pay him a lot more attention than I can and play more.
