Story
Welcome Anna to our FHL Rescue! Anna comes to us from the Duplin County Shelter, weighs about 51 pounds, and is a Staffordshire mix. Since being rescued, Anna has really started coming out of her shell and is such a sweet girl. She is young, energetic, and friendly, but still a little skittish with any quick movement, more so around men. Anna knows her basic commands. She is smart, also a bit hyper, and tends to pull on her leash, which is being worked on and corrected daily by her foster mom. If you are interested in adopting Anna, please send us an email address to obtain an Adoption Application.

UPDATE: We are in the process of losing our house. The dogs need to be rehomed ASAP. Zoie is good with other dogs. She listens well and is a very joyful, excited dog. One of her favorite things to do is cuddle with her people. Zoie is still figuring out how to play with toys (she came from a hoarding situation with no toys.) Once she figures out how fetch works she will be ready to frolic all afternoon with you and/or your kids. She has been spayed.

UPDATE: We are in the process of losing our house. The dogs need to be rehomed ASAP. Chance (the dancing dog) is very excited to meet you. He likes to dance and twirl around to show you that he is happy to see you. Chance loves any toys but is very particular about treats. Chance is afraid of storms and would appreciate a safe place to hide with blankets. Chance is a genuinely happy dog and would thrive with a good amount of room to run around.

Story
I acquired Cali at 2 or 3 months old and watched him grow up from a puppy to an adult in four years time. He's a happy, friendly, loving, and affectionate dog. He loves to play and swears he's a lap dog. He's always smiling and is well house and potty trained. He even knows not to go in your bathroom/kitchen area unless you call him in there. His favorite game is tug o war and fetch. He's never bitten anyone ever. He loves to run in the yard and sunbathe but he is not an outdoors dog. Eventually he will look for the door to be opened. He's perfect for anyone needing a dog to cuddle at night, to keep the kids occupied, or even an emotional support dog. He's up to date on all vaccines; last appt was 11/4/25 **There is NO ADOPTION FEE**

Story
Meet Romeo — a sweet, gentle, 4-year-old pup looking for his forever home. Romeo is incredibly loving, calm, and happiest when he’s cuddled up next to you. He bonds deeply with his person and thrives in a home where he can feel safe and cared for. He enjoys playtime and does great with one-on-one dog playdates, but he can be reactive toward other dogs while on walks, so he’ll need someone comfortable continuing his training and giving him structure. Romeo has had two protective incidents in the past, 2 years ago, so I introduce him to new people slowly and mindfully. Because of this, he’s best suited for an experienced dog owner who understands canine behavior and can provide patient, consistent guidance. He has lots of love to give. Romeo is truly a wonderful, affectionate companion who just needs the right match—someone who will give him the stability, understanding, and affection he deserves.
