Story
Meet Rosie! Rosie is a humble young girl, who has no idea how cute she is with her funky ears. Don't let her age fool you. Rosie is an expert as catching treats in midair and loves to go for walks with her favorite humans. She is a spunky girl, who is looking for a home with a nice backyard to ramp around in and that has a comfy bed for her to cuddle up in at night.Rosie lived in a home with other dogs and has a playmate at the OHAR shelter that she thinks is the bee's knees (*see Lucky). However, Rosie told us that she'd prefer to be the only animal in the home. She really likes attention and to have all the lovin's for herself. If you'd like to meet Rosie and her crazy ears, contact us TODAY!Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
We rescued Charlotte as a puppy from Dallas Animal Services. She is a very sweet girl who has been very loving towards us and our small children. Unfortunately Charlotte has started challenging our female Rottweiler for dominance and it has resulted in some fighting that we can’t tolerate. We are heart broken to have to rehome her because she is an amazing dog and great with people, but we just don’t know if she is good with other pets or it could be just an isolated conflict with our other female dog. She is house trained, semi-leash trained (she gets really excited and still pulls sometimes), is excellent with kids (she is a natural-born protector), and is already spayed.

Story
Charolette is a loving and playful 2-year-old who has been part of our family since she was just 6 weeks old. She’s grown up with our two children (ages 4 and 6) and has always been gentle, patient, and affectionate with them. She loves to cuddle, play outside, and is happiest when she’s around people. Charolette has also lived with another dog (a female Rottweiler named Rosie). They’ve generally done well together, but recently have begun to compete for dominance in the home. For that reason, we believe Charolette would thrive best as the only female dog in a household—or even better, as the only pet where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She’s loyal, energetic, smart, and loves being part of family life. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who adores kids and enjoys being by your side, Charolette would make a wonderful addition to your home. Adjectives that describe Charolette: affectionate, playful, loyal, gentle, and intelligent.

Story
Santana was born albino and we discovered she is deaf as a puppy. She was full of energy and enjoy playing a lot outside. She was a big puppy and grew to be up to 65 pounds. She has been an inside dog for most of her life, but enjoys the outdoors a lot by her being deaf she has a great sense of smell and enjoys chasing squirrels and possums. She has a strong bark and is very strong herself. She’s a very lovable dog and loves to be scratched behind the ear and giving hugs unfortunately, I have lost my house and have no home with the yard for her. I am going out of state for a few weeks to relocate. I do not have any family members that have space and a yard for her. I must give her up. I must find her a safe place to be. It hurts my heart to let her go, but I don’t know where to turn to. I need help very quickly thank you. Unfortunately i am needed to leave Dallas on Sunday November 23, 2025 mornin. I don’t want to drop her off at the Dallas Animal shelter today .

Story
Santana was born as an Albino, which means she is deaf. She was filled so much energy and emotion to play with everything and everyone! It took us a while to figure that something was missing with Santana , that lack of hearing our commands , her name. Took her to the vet , they discovered her condition. That was 8 years ago . Santana has been both an inside and outside pet. Mostly we kept her in our back yard . She became a very large and strong dog weight up to 65+ pounds. Now presently Santana has lost weight and suffered with skin allergies due to fleas and weed spray from being in the backyard. I am 75 years old and within the last few weeks I sold my home and have been without a place to live . I am staying with a daughter who doesn’t want Santana at her place , small grandson is allergic to dogs. Please I need to find a safe place for Santana asap , I am going out of town this Sunday 11/22/2025 gone for a few weeks . Please help me,help Santana to live. She’s a sweet dog

Story
Meet Dusse – Your Loyal, Blue-Hued Best Friend Dusse is a beautiful, big-hearted bully breed with a soft blue coat and an even softer soul. Rescued from the kill list at Dallas Animal Services, he’s now searching for a loving forever home. This gentle giant is dog-friendly, curious and sweet around children, and truly thrives in a home with another dog. Dusse is leash-trained, crate-trained, and knows all his basic commands. He’s also highly food-motivated, making him easy and fun to train. While he does have some crate anxiety—likely from his shelter experience—he settles well when given space to relax and feel safe. He’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving, and smart pup ready to start his next chapter.
