Story
Meet Rosie! Rosie is a humble young girl, who has no idea how cute she is with her funky ears. Don't let her age fool you. Rosie is an expert as catching treats in midair and loves to go for walks with her favorite humans. She is a spunky girl, who is looking for a home with a nice backyard to ramp around in and that has a comfy bed for her to cuddle up in at night.Rosie lived in a home with other dogs and has a playmate at the OHAR shelter that she thinks is the bee's knees (*see Lucky). However, Rosie told us that she'd prefer to be the only animal in the home. She really likes attention and to have all the lovin's for herself. If you'd like to meet Rosie and her crazy ears, contact us TODAY!Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
I acquired Luna from an old family friend. She is has been in my care for 3 years. I am looking for her to go to a family that has love to give, time to spare and share, and energy to pour into this beautiful fur baby. I would describe Luna as energetic, protective, curious, alert, eager, loving, playful and a little mischievous (aren’t all dogs). Luna deserves a home of care that i cannot provide right now and i do not like the thought of her going i to a shelter. If you’re able to do that for her she’s yours!

Story
I'm just a girl looking for love! My name is Darla and I'm hoping for my fairytale ending! I'm very pretty if I do say so myself. I'm affectionate and love to snuggle up with my person while watching a movie. I'm really good at cuddling up with my person at night too. I'm an active girl who likes walks, running around the yard, playing with my toys and taking car rides. I'm a big girl at 60+ pounds but I think I'm a lap dog-so beware, I might try to crawl onto your lap! I'm currently hanging out with my foster and another female dog who is smaller than me (she's an Australian Cattle dog mix). I don't know about other furry critters (like cats) and how I would be around them. We have wild rabbits where I live and I enjoy barking at them but who knows what I might do if there wasn't a fence between us! The fence is a metal fence so I can see out and it's about 4 feet tall but it might be a good idea to have a taller fence to be sure I can't jump over. I've learned to go potty outside and on my walks. It helps me to have a dog door so I can go outside when I need to and avoid accidents. I have some experience with crate training so please be patient and help me with that training. I've also been to school where I learned about the basics of sit, stay, heel, place, loose leash walking and I got to participate in group classes with other dogs of various sizes and breeds. I'm a good girl and I try really hard to do the right things but I'm still young and need positive reinforcement to help me get better at the tasks I've learned. I get very excited when my person comes home-I wag my tail side to side with such energy that my butt wiggles! My person and I live with an older person and I have to be careful not to paw at this older person or jump up on her. I do not have experience around kids so I think it would be best if my forever family has older children or no children. My favorite toys are by a brand called Tuff and I like them because they hold up to my vigorous play. I also enjoy chasing balls and toys that squeak and have some rope parts to play tug of war. Electronics are great fun to bark and bite - for example, the vacuum and the paper shredder. I'm still young and impulsive sometimes. I am a chewer so I need some positive correction on what I am allowed to chew on and what I should not chew on. Some things that help me with that issue are cow knee treats, using training treats to reward good behavior, antlers and buffalo horns and of course lots of exercise! I sometimes bark at people I know; I'm just trying to get their attention, but I will need help with correcting this behavior. Please take a chance on me! I'm a sweetheart and I'm smart and can learn to be your best companion. Darla is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program. All iRehome dogs are being rehomed by their current owner. All iRehome behavioral and medical information is provided by the dog's current owner. TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with the current owner prior to completing the adoption process.

Story
Meet Luka, a 6-year-old Blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier (65 lbs) with a silky gray â&#194&#128&#194&#156land sealâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 coat and a heart full of love! This intelligent, yet dopey, playful boy is a master squirrel-chaser and an equally talented cuddler, happy to snuggle for hours on end. Rescued 4 years ago from abandonment, Lukaâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s now thrivingâ&#194&#128&#194&#148crate-trained, housebroken, and responsive to â&#194&#128&#194&#156sit,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 â&#194&#128&#194&#156stay,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 â&#194&#128&#194&#156come,â&#194&#128&#194&#157 and â&#194&#128&#194&#156kennel up.â&#194&#128&#194&#157 Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s up-to-date on shots, neutered, and microchipped. Luka loves bones, romping with non-alpha dogs (best with females or calm males), and showing off his goofy charm. Sadly, due to aggression from one of our other male dogs whom I got as a puppy and is very protective of me. Luka needs a new home where he can roam freely without a muzzle. Perfect for an active owner preferably with a yard. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready to bring joy to experienced Staffie lovers. Apply to adopt Luka today and give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Luka, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Five years old and weighing in just under 65 pounds, Phil is a friendly and energetic Staffy/bully mix who will bring a lively and loving energy to your house. His gorgeous brindle coat and mismatched ears always draw attention! We originally adopted him in 2020, but the shelter did not know much about his life before he arrived. Since then, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s grown into a friendly and steady companion. At this time he is up to date on all of his vaccines and regular pest medication. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep this sweet boy because he is very much a people dog and he has trouble adjusting to the other animals weâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ve brought into our house. His ideal home would have him absorbing all of his familyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s undivided love, with regular time outside for brisk walks and sunbathing. He loves people and making new human friends is always the highlight of his day; so much so that he sometimes needs a reminder to calm down and remember his manners. Crate trained, housebroken, and well behaved on a leash, he makes for an excellent walking companion and can even be taken to patio restaurants without issue so long as he remains on leash! On leash, he has no problems walking by other dogs, cats, and squirrels. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s down for car rides and couch naps anytime, and is likely to use you as a pillow. If you have a fenced backyard he will LOVE to play fetch or chase a flirt pole until heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s happily worn out. Phil is an amazing dog that just needs the right home, as much as we wish that home could be ours. Apply today to give him that home! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Phil, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org.
