Hi there! My name is Doris. I was named after the stunning Doris Day because I am just as beautiful and shine just as bright. If you're looking for an expert snuggler, then I'm your girl! I've been told my snuggle skills are unmatched. Maybe it's because I had so many babies in my past life and still have that mama instinct for offering affection to the ones I love. Or it could be that I just can't get enough of all the lovin's!Speaking of lovin's, I do love other dogs. As long as they aren't rude. I raised multiple litters; I don't need to teach another dog their manners. My mama days are over! With a slow introduction, I am a brilliant friend! If you'd like me to be your arm candy as we strut through your neighborhood, then connect with OHAR to learn more about me!Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Meet Rosie! Rosie is a humble young girl, who has no idea how cute she is with her funky ears. Don't let her age fool you. Rosie is an expert as catching treats in midair and loves to go for walks with her favorite humans. She is a spunky girl, who is looking for a home with a nice backyard to ramp around in and that has a comfy bed for her to cuddle up in at night.Rosie lived in a home with other dogs and has a playmate at the OHAR shelter that she thinks is the bee's knees (*see Lucky). However, Rosie told us that she'd prefer to be the only animal in the home. She really likes attention and to have all the lovin's for herself. If you'd like to meet Rosie and her crazy ears, contact us TODAY!Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. Story
I'm just a girl looking for love! My name is Darla and I'm hoping for my fairytale ending! I'm very pretty if I do say so myself. I'm affectionate and love to snuggle up with my person while watching a movie. I'm really good at cuddling up with my person at night too. I'm an active girl who likes walks, running around the yard, playing with my toys and taking car rides. I'm a big girl at 60+ pounds but I think I'm a lap dog-so beware, I might try to crawl onto your lap! I'm currently hanging out with my foster and another female dog who is smaller than me (she's an Australian Cattle dog mix). I don't know about other furry critters (like cats) and how I would be around them. We have wild rabbits where I live and I enjoy barking at them but who knows what I might do if there wasn't a fence between us! The fence is a metal fence so I can see out and it's about 4 feet tall but it might be a good idea to have a taller fence to be sure I can't jump over. I've learned to go potty outside and on my walks. It helps me to have a dog door so I can go outside when I need to and avoid accidents. I have some experience with crate training so please be patient and help me with that training. I've also been to school where I learned about the basics of sit, stay, heel, place, loose leash walking and I got to participate in group classes with other dogs of various sizes and breeds. I'm a good girl and I try really hard to do the right things but I'm still young and need positive reinforcement to help me get better at the tasks I've learned. I get very excited when my person comes home-I wag my tail side to side with such energy that my butt wiggles! My person and I live with an older person and I have to be careful not to paw at this older person or jump up on her. I do not have experience around kids so I think it would be best if my forever family has older children or no children. I would prefer to be the only pet so that I can hog all the love and attention from my forever family. My favorite toys are by a brand called Tuff and I like them because they hold up to my vigorous play. I also enjoy chasing balls and toys that squeak and have some rope parts to play tug of war. Electronics are great fun to bark and bite - for example, the vacuum and the paper shredder. I'm still young and impulsive sometimes. I am a chewer so I need some positive correction on what I am allowed to chew on and what I should not chew on. Some things that help me with that issue are cow knee treats, using training treats to reward good behavior, antlers and buffalo horns and of course lots of exercise! I sometimes bark at people I know; I'm just trying to get their attention, but I will need help with correcting this behavior. Please take a chance on me! I'm a sweetheart and I'm smart and can learn to be your best companion. Darla is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Hi! I'm Whisper, and not to brag or anything but I am a really smart pup. I can do any and all things for a nibble of food. I love to be as close as I possibly can to people so I can get the maximum amount of pats and scratches possible! And if that means sitting on your head, I am perfectly willing to make that sacrifice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to dog parks and playing with other dogs. I don't care if a lot of them are bigger than me, it just means that I can play that much more! I also love to play fetch until I'm flopped on the ground from running. I am kennel trained, and I'll even go hang out in my kennel on my own to just chill sometimes. I am also a master at "sit, "stay, "lie down, and "sit up if I'm lying down. I'm past needing hand signals so normally the words are enough to let me know what I need to do. Oh oh oh I can also shake! I'm super duper close on getting the whole potty thing down too! I know that it's better for me to go outside and I really try to. Sometimes me and my foster parents just aren't on the same bathroom schedule but we're working on it! Though once I am outside I feel like everything is free game. If I make it to the grass, great! But sometimes the sidewalk works just as well! My last thing I'm working on with my foster parents is that hands are friends, not food. I still try to take a nibble from time to time when I get excited, but I am learning to respect that boundary and am making great progress! All in all I just want a home where I can run and maybe play with another pup or two! I am sure I will find that some day! Whisper is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Are you looking for your new best friend? Look no further! Little Bean is the sweetest girl who wants nothing more than to be loved on. She is curious, playful, and enjoys squeaking squeaker toys. She loves to cuddle in your lap and give tons of kisses. Little Bean is great with other dogs and has not pottied in her foster’s home once. She does well on a leash and comes when you call her. She is working on not jumping but she just has so much love to give, she can’t help it! Little Bean was a stray and was dumped in East Texas when she wandered up onto her current foster’s back porch. She was skin and bones when she was taken in and has steadily gained weight since she has been cared for. Little Bean would be the perfect addition to any loving home! Story
Ace was my sons dog, and my son went into the oil field. He was unable to take the dog with him. I was supposed to have the dog for three months. I have been caring for Ace for one year. I was recently offered a position in New Mexico but cannot take Ace with me. Ace is house-trained. He is a family dog. He loves being around people. Ace is energetic, happy, and playful and loves going on his daily walks. He can sit, lie down, and roll over. He loves to play with his chew toys. He is in the Pitbull family, but he is nothing like people perceive Pitbull's. I do give him a joint supplement daily along with a Claritin for his allergies. He is allergic to peanut butter.
