Meet Jude! Ready, set, GO! That’s my motto. I'm a gorgeous 2 yr old black male standard poodle with tons of energy and a massive love for tennis balls. If you have a backyard and a squeaky toy, we will get along great. I’m a quick learner who loves to show off my fetching skills, and I’m already housebroken. I’m great with other dogs, cat-friendly, and fully vetted. I am a bit of a 'diamond in the rough' when it comes to training—I’m super smart but need someone to teach me basic manners. Because I love people so much, I often jump up to say hello, so I need to be in a home with older children who won’t get knocked over.  Life was a bit tough on me when I was abandoned, so I’m looking for a patient, loving forever home to show me that humans are okay. I’m a little underweight right now, so I’m on a special mission to fill out! To help my tummy handle all my yummy new food, I use a 'slow feeder' bowl at every meal or a Kong Wobbler. It turns breakfast and dinner into a fun puzzle and makes sure I don't eat too fast. Once I trust you, I am your best friend! NEWBIE ALERT!! This handsome boy is Zazu! He was owner surrendered when his family could no longer care for him. He’s a 4 year old Goldendoodle! He’s a timid boy who needs patience as he settles in and gets accustomed to new families and environments. He’s 60 lbs and as recently groomed. He’s playful and sweet once comfortable, but does need patience and understanding as he adjust to a new family and environment. He does well in the house and car. He’s utd, hw tested and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Story
Arlo is 6 years old, in great health, and has had his yearly shots. He is very smart and alert. He has a beautiful coat color. His outer coat is lighter than his undercoat, which gets exposed when he is trimmed. He is mostly white with black, silver and a tiny bit of brown. He does well with our older children, but gets fearful and barks at small children when they come to our yard. He does not like cats or chickens. He gets along well with female dogs, but not other males in his own yard. He does get along with other males better now that he is neutered. He does very well on walks and has never been aggressive toward strangers. He is a pure breed and could be professionally trained. He will require grooming to maintain his coat. He does not shed.
