Dwight is house trained but was never crated or around other dogs except through a fence. He's used to being home with a stay at home Mom and kids but a bit scared of men and not very social because he never met many people or animals so he'd be best with another stay at home with kids or a single person. He is a mini goldendoodle. He's about 30 lb but short. He's sweet but unsure of his new standing in life. He's fully vetted and looking for a bright new future with a FOREVER HOME. His adoption fee is $300Apply atMadisonARF.org

Story
Meet Benji! 🐾 At 6 years old, Benji is the definition of a gentle soul. This handsome doodle has been through more than any dog should, but despite his past, he has the sweetest heart and is ready to find the family he’s always deserved. Benji is house trained, leash trained, and dog door trained. We’re actively working on crate training, although Benji would happily tell you that crates just aren’t his favorite place to be! He’s a true lover who wants nothing more than to be with his people. Whether it’s riding in the car, going for a walk, or simply relaxing by your side, Benji is happiest when he’s spending time with his humans. This well-mannered gentleman is non-destructive in the home and has wonderful house manners. He does great with children, although they may want to keep an eye on their snacks—Benji has been known to help himself to a treat or two if given the opportunity! As a doodle, Benji requires regular professional grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. The good news? He’s a true gentleman at the groomer and does wonderfully during his appointments. There are a few important things to know about Benji as he continues his journey. When he came to us, he was severely underweight and still needs to gain approximately 15 pounds. For his health and safety, Benji must be fed on a schedule and cannot be free-fed. Because he went without food for so long, he tends to binge eat if given unlimited access to food, which could ultimately lead to bloat. We’d love for his forever family to continue helping him safely reach a healthy weight with patience and consistency. Benji would do best in a home with a female dog companion, as that’s where he’s been the most comfortable. He is dominant with male dogs, so a home without male dogs would be the best fit for him. He would also thrive as the only dog in a home where his people are around more often than not. More than anything, Benji is looking for a family that will cherish him, continue building his confidence, and give him the love and stability he’s been missing. If you’re ready for a loyal best friend with a heart of gold, Benji is ready to meet you! 🐾 Adoption Info: All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing and treatment if necessary, current flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipping prior to adoption. 👉 To start the adoption process, please fill out our application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/WAG/Dog Please note: The dog you’re applying for may already have a meet-and-greet scheduled or have been offered to another rescue within our network. If that happens, don’t worry—we’re always happy to help you find another great match. if that happens! Our goal is to make sure every pup ends up in the best home for their needs (and yours too!)

Story
Thor is a loving and energetic dog who we hate to say goodbye to as we relocate and will be unable to keep him. He loves to be outside and enjoys walks but also enjoys just lounging in the sun. We've had Thor since he was a puppy and he has always been great around other dogs. We have not had him around younger children, but he should be great. He is 5 years old and is fully up to date on all veterinary shots/protocols.

BIG dog. Even BIGGER heart. 🐾🤍 Yeti is officially on the hunt for his forever family. This handsome guy may take up a little extra room on the couch, but he makes up for it with endless love, loyalty, and a personality that will keep you smiling. Yeti is convinced he belongs directly beside you at all times and will happily follow you from room to room to supervise all household activities. Yeti loves car rides, adventures, toys, treats, and showing off his excellent leash manners. He is house trained, kennel trained, and already knows sit and shake like a total gentleman. He’s smart and eager to keep learning too. When playtime is over, Yeti is all about hanging out with his people and being your oversized best friend. If you’ve been looking for a loyal sidekick with a goofy streak, a giant heart, and enough love to fill your whole house, Yeti may be your perfect match. Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! This handsome boy is Zazu! He was owner surrendered when his family could no longer care for him. He’s a 4 year old Goldendoodle! He’s a timid boy who needs patience as he settles in and gets accustomed to new families and environments. He’s 60 lbs and as recently groomed. He’s playful and sweet once comfortable, but does need patience and understanding as he adjust to a new family and environment. He does well in the house and car. He’s utd, hw tested and neutered.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
