Story
Meet Holmes 🐾 If you’re looking for the perfect combination of playful, goofy, and incredibly affectionate, Holmes just might be your guy! This handsome 5-year-old cream Standard Poodle is a total love bug with a heart as big as his fluffy paws. Holmes is happiest when he’s carrying around one of his favorite soft toys, chasing a tennis ball, or soaking up all the cuddles he can get. He’s the larger of the two brothers, but underneath all that fluff is an absolute sweetheart who simply wants to be loved. Holmes is a smart cookie, too! He’s food motivated and eager to learn, already mastering commands like sit and shake, while quickly picking up new skills like leave it, down, stay, and look at me. He’s discovering that learning is fun—especially when treats are involved! His favorite pastime? Playtime! Holmes loves fetch, tug-of-war, squeaky toys, and anything involving a tennis ball. Once he’s gotten his zoomies out, he’s perfectly content to curl up on his bed for a nap. One of his most endearing quirks is the dramatic, hilarious groans he lets out as he settles in to relax—you can’t help but laugh every time! Holmes is house trained, crate trained, rides beautifully in the car, and is a polite gentleman around other dogs. He happily shares toys and food with both his brother and his foster sibling and has wonderful manners in the home. While leash walking is still new to him, he’s making great progress every day and will thrive with a family willing to continue building his confidence. Most of all, Holmes adores his people. He’ll lean into you for pets, greet you every morning with a wagging tail, and remind you daily just how much love one dog can have. Holmes shares a very special bond with his brother, Watson. The boys look for one another when they’re apart and truly enjoy life’s adventures together. They would love nothing more than to find a forever family willing to keep this sweet duo together. If your home could use a little more laughter, a lot more love, and endless cuddles, Holmes is ready to fill that role beautifully. Story
Meet Watson 🐾 Sweet, gentle, and incredibly devoted—Watson is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart. This handsome 5-year-old cream Standard Poodle is the calmer of the two brothers and absolutely loves being close to his people. Whether he’s following you from room to room, leaning against your legs for affection, or curling up beside you on the couch, Watson’s happiest place is wherever his favorite humans happen to be. Don’t let his laid-back personality fool you—this boy is brilliant! Watson thrives on learning and is proving to be a natural at trick training. Already knowing sit and shake, he’s quickly mastering cues like touch, stay, leave it, and even learning to crawl! His focus and eagerness to please make training both easy and fun. While he’ll happily chase a toy a few times, Watson’s favorite games involve running and wrestling with his beloved brother, Holmes. Invite him to a game of chase, and he’ll happily show off just how fast those poodle legs can go! Watson is house trained, crate trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and has excellent manners around other dogs. He isn’t destructive, enjoys relaxing with a cow ear, and happily sleeps through the night in his crate. During the day, you’ll often find him choosing to nap there with the door left open because it’s his safe, cozy place. Watson has an incredibly gentle soul and forms deep bonds with the people—and dogs—he loves. He and Holmes are very attached to one another, often checking in on each other throughout the day, and Watson especially finds comfort knowing his brother is nearby. Because of their close relationship, we’d love to see these best friends adopted together so they can continue sharing life’s adventures. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a soft heart, a sharp mind, and endless affection to give, Watson is waiting to meet you. Story
Dwight was never socialized by the original owner because she had to hide him from her landlord for 4 years because she wasn't supposed to have him then she was caught out and had to turn him into us before she got served with eviction papers. He was terrified at first because he had absolutely never been around anyone but now, though he can be a little timid at first, he has become very social, very friendly, a loving little guy at around 30 lb and likes to be around other dogs, was raised with kids so he's fine with most of them as long as they are really small. Dwight's ideal Home would be with someone who is a stay-at-home, with or without kids, with or without another dog, where he would get lots of attention, lots of love, he would be fine as an apartment dog as long as he got to go out when he needed to (he will go to the door and stare at you when he needs to go potty). He will make someone a perfect little companion but he needs a perfect Mom. (He's okay with men now, though he is used to having a Mom).He is fully vetted, neutered, on heartworm prevention and if you have other dogs, all of yours must be fully vetted and on heartworm prevention also and you must have a vet reference on your application for me to check. His adoption fee is $300 and you may apply online at Madisonarf.org

Story
Meet Benji! 🐾 At 6 years old, Benji is the definition of a gentle soul. This handsome doodle has been through more than any dog should, but despite his past, he has the sweetest heart and is ready to find the family he’s always deserved. Benji is house trained, leash trained, and dog door trained. We’re actively working on crate training, although Benji would happily tell you that crates just aren’t his favorite place to be! He’s a true lover who wants nothing more than to be with his people. Whether it’s riding in the car, going for a walk, or simply relaxing by your side, Benji is happiest when he’s spending time with his humans. This well-mannered gentleman is non-destructive in the home and has wonderful house manners. He does great with children, although they may want to keep an eye on their snacks—Benji has been known to help himself to a treat or two if given the opportunity! As a doodle, Benji requires regular professional grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. The good news? He’s a true gentleman at the groomer and does wonderfully during his appointments. There are a few important things to know about Benji as he continues his journey. When he came to us, he was severely underweight and still needs to gain approximately 15 pounds. For his health and safety, Benji must be fed on a schedule and cannot be free-fed. Because he went without food for so long, he tends to binge eat if given unlimited access to food, which could ultimately lead to bloat. We’d love for his forever family to continue helping him safely reach a healthy weight with patience and consistency. Benji would do best in a home with a female dog companion, as that’s where he’s been the most comfortable. He is dominant with male dogs, so a home without male dogs would be the best fit for him. He would also thrive as the only dog in a home where his people are around more often than not. More than anything, Benji is looking for a family that will cherish him, continue building his confidence, and give him the love and stability he’s been missing. If you’re ready for a loyal best friend with a heart of gold, Benji is ready to meet you! 🐾 Adoption Info: All of our animals are fully vetted, which includes spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing and treatment if necessary, current flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipping prior to adoption. 👉 To start the adoption process, please fill out our application here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/WAG/Dog Please note: The dog you’re applying for may already have a meet-and-greet scheduled or have been offered to another rescue within our network. If that happens, don’t worry—we’re always happy to help you find another great match. if that happens! Our goal is to make sure every pup ends up in the best home for their needs (and yours too!)
