EDMONTON, AB - Abby and Kai are a bonded pair of standard poodles who came to SPIN together after their owner's health took a turn that made it impossible to give them the care they deserved. Their surrender was an act of love — these two were deeply loved, well cared for, and it shows in every interaction they have with the people around them. Abby herself had been rescued a few years earlier by this same family, who gave her a second chance at a good life. Now it is our turn to find them their forever home — together. They are currently in their foster home in Edmonton, Alberta, and their foster family has had the joy of watching this sweet, playful pair settle in beautifully. Let us tell you what they found.

EDMONTON, AB - Vito is a seven-year-old standard poodle who was loved deeply by his first family. In April 2023, Vito was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease, which is a condition relatively common in standard poodles and allows a dog to live a full and happy life when managed correctly. However, when the financial responsibility of his care became more than the family could manage at the time, they made the heartbreaking decision to reach out to SPIN for help. They described Vito as a well-mannered, gentle boy, and everything his foster family has observed since confirms exactly that.

EDMONTON, AB - Eva is a sweet and gentle three-year-old poodle who came to SPIN through no fault of her own. She was purchased from a breeder in British Columbia and spent her early years in a loving home, but when her family's circumstances shifted — more demanding work hours, an upcoming move — they came to the difficult realization that they could no longer give Eva the time, attention, and energy she deserves. So they reached out to SPIN, and we, of course, said yes. Since April 2026, she has been living with a wonderful foster family in Alberta who have been showing her all the love and patience she deserves.

We rescued Luna 2 years ago (previous history unknown). Extra Large - perhaps Poodle/Great Dane. Gets along well with our medium-sized dog, and family of 5 (youngest is 10). We had a large private acreage where she loved playing outside and usually stayed within the range of her boundary collar. She is house-trained, calm & cuddly indoors. We recently moved to a smaller acreage in a more populated area. Many of our neighbours have small - medium sized dogs that wander off-leash, often passing right through our yard. She has become increasingly anxious since the move and recently attacked the neighbour's dog, causing puncture marks. She would do best on a quiet acreage with no cats or small dogs. If other large dogs, she would require a dedicated/experienced owner to introduce/manage aggression. I would recommend no small children just to be extra cautious due to her size. Kennel-trained, Spayed, Up-to date vaccines, Muzzle-trained. Well-loved, just want a more peaceful home for her.
