In April 2023, Vito was diagnosed with Addison’s Disease, which is a condition relatively common in standard poodles and allows a dog to live a full and happy life when managed correctly. However, when the financial responsibility of his care became more than the family could manage at the time, they made the heartbreaking decision to reach out to SPIN for help. They described Vito as a well-mannered, gentle boy, and everything his foster family has observed since confirms exactly that.

He walks well on a leash, has great recall, and is not bothered by cats. He's also a quick learner, and loves to learn new tricks. He can be selective with other dogs, so introductions should be done carefully.Hugo is best suited for an experienced dog owner who understands high-energy breeds and can provide structure, consistency, and daily physical and mental exercise. A home with a yard or acreage would be ideal.It is important to note that Hugo experiences confinement anxiety and does not do well in a crate. He would do best in a home where someone is around frequently or has experience managing separation and confinement-related behaviours.We are not looking for a quick placement.
