Story
Meet Jelly Bean, a 4-year-old Labradoodle weighing 38 pounds. This gentle girl may be a little shy at first, but underneath that reserved exterior is a very sweet, loving companion just waiting to feel safe and settled. On walks, Jelly Bean likes to lead the way but does so nicely on leash, making her a pleasant walking partner. She keeps her run clean at the shelter, which is a great sign as she transitions into a home routine. Jelly Bean has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI), a condition where the pancreas doesn’t produce enough digestive enzymes. She will need daily enzyme supplements for life to help her stay healthy and feel her best. With the right care and consistency, dogs with EPI can thrive and live happy, full lives. If you’re looking for a quiet, kind-hearted dog to grow with and give a little extra love to, Jelly Bean may be the perfect fit. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registrationfor McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Ryder is a 14 week old Poodle mix puppy. He has the cutest scruffy hair, which unfortunately has been trimmed. He also has no tail, no nub, nothing but an exposed poop shoot. So, if seeing the brown eye, stink eye, dirty wink, whatever you want to call it, will offend you please do not apply. Ryder LOVES to play with his foster siblings and snuggle in bed at night to sleep. He is still working on being 100% potty trained but is making progress. He knows how to use a doggie door in his foster home. Ryder is a smart cookie and very treat motivated so training will be a lot of fun for him. He did get a DNA test done which showed that he is 53% poodle, 11% chihuahua, and 8% golden retriever, and several other breeds that were 3% or less. He is estimated to be 43-72 pounds when full grown per wisdom panel's DNA test. Ryder's adoption fee of $300 covers his neuter, microchip with registration, first 3 puppy vaccines, and current monthly flea and heartworm preventions. Please apply at gfrpets.org/apply ##2703924##

Story
Hi, I'm Pepsi. I feel like I'm a little misunderstood so I'd like to explain me better. You see, I've really never known love, the warmth of a home, having my own food, a warm bed, toys to play with, or anything like that. I have foster siblings that try to show me, and a foster mom that is really patient with me, and I'm trying, but sometimes I want left alone to process. Please don't think I don't love you and want to be around you, I am just overwhelmed. When I'm eating, I don't want anyone around me, I'm afraid you'll take my food before I'm full or my fur siblings won't let me have it to begin with. I'm really afraid of sudden movements because I don't know what's happening and why you're suddenly changing your behavior so fast. You're so much bigger than me so I get afraid when you walk by because you might step on me and hurt me so I'm going to run past you and get out of the way; please just let me out of the way. I hate my feet being touched, please don't touch them for any reason; if they're dirty, let me stand in water to soak them clean, if they're wet, let me lay on a towel on your lap and pet me while they dry, it's probably best that a Vet trims my nails so I can be sedated otherwise it's probably best if I wear a muzzle. When I come into the room where you are, that's me showing you my affection. I'll come up to you and stand by you and smell you and let you pet me as long as you don't scare me with sudden movements. If you pick me up and set me on your lap, I'll lay with you and snuggle while you pet me...I really do love pers, I just get afraid sometimes and need you to tell me I'm safe and you won't hurt me. I like to rock with you at a slow easy pace, and it's even better if you read to me. I don't care what you read, I like to hear a quiet calm voice. My foster mom is working on my confidence. She holds me in front of a mirror and tells me I'm beautiful and that I'm loved and safe, and what a big brave girl I'm becoming; this reassures me that you love me and want me to be your family. I may take a little extra work and patience, but I'm an amazing girl and will be a great family member if you take the time with me All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention.
