Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Introducing Sonny, a Standard Poodle (b. June 2021).  Sonny is a friendly guy and gets along with new people, kids, dogs and cats.  He gets pretty excited and can be kind of clumsy, so he would be better with older kids (age 6+).  He is leash trained, knows some commands and likes to play fetch when he's in the mood.  He will let you know when someone is at the door or when the garage door opens.  Sonny is very food motivated when it comes to training.  He obeys common commands such as sit, stay, down and will come when he's called (usually with a whistle).  The perfect home for Sonny would include time for cuddles and a daily walk.  He enjoys the company of people and would be a good fit in a family home with older children who will give him lots of attention.  He needs a fenced yard, but it doesn't need to be a big one.  Sometimes he enjoys playing fetch inside more than outside!  Apply to adopt this sweet guy today! The suggested adoption donation for Sonny is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to  Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##2096222##
