Story
Meet Harley. A standard poodle gentleman with a heart ready for his first real home. 🐩 Harley spent most of his life living in an outdoor kennel where he was used for breeding and produced many puppies over the years. When his former family decided they were no longer going to breed, they asked if we would help find him the loving home he has never truly had. Since arriving, Harley has shown us just how much he adores indoor life. Soft blankets, cozy spaces, and human companionship are his absolute favorites. He has a very sweet and loving personality. He can be slightly shy when first meeting new people, but that melts away quickly because he genuinely craves affection and connection with his humans. Despite never living inside before, Harley has not had a single accident indoors. He keeps his kennel space incredibly clean and is honestly one of the neatest dogs we have had in our care. He has been around children and does great. He also appears to be fairly dog friendly. However, Harley cannot live with small animals of any kind. No cats, goats, sheep, birds, guinea pigs, or similar animals. Standard poodles were originally bred as hunting dogs, and Harley definitely carries that natural prey drive instinct. When Harley arrived, he was heavily matted and needed to be shaved down. Even with the discomfort of removing tight mats, he stood like a perfect gentleman for grooming. That alone speaks volumes about his temperament and trust. Standard poodles are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong bond with their people. They thrive when they are included in family life, both mentally and physically. Harley is ready to finally experience that kind of life for the first time. Story
Currently in our Paws-in-Prison program! Meet Lane! Lane’s story started out rough—he and his siblings were dumped in the game lands, and tragically, three of them were struck by a car. Lane is one of the lucky survivors, and now this sweet boy is ready to leave that past far behind. Lane is snuggly, playful, and full of love. He’ll happily romp and play, but what he really lives for are cuddle sessions. He loves people and absolutely melts into your arms once he feels safe. Lane came to us a little cautious with quick movements—he wasn’t sure what to expect from the human hand—but he’s learning every day that love and safety are all that’s waiting for him. Lane’s breed mix is as special as his heart: Standard Poodle + American Pit Terrier, with a touch of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Cocker Spaniel. That means he’s smart, affectionate, and loyal—just waiting for the right person to give him the forever home he deserves. Before completing an application, please take into consideration breed characteristics, puppy shenanigans, and estimated full-grown size. • I am full of razor-sharp puppy teeth and LOVE to chew. • I am not house trained or crate trained (but I’m working on it). • I need daily exercise, playtime, and mental enrichment—not long hours confined in a crate. • I require quality time to learn good manners, basic obedience, house training, and proper socialization. • I’ve had a rough start in life and need a home committed to helping me learn what love and loyalty really mean. • We place our dogs and puppies into homes that meet their specific needs. Be sure to visit our Facebook page for additional pictures and updates on our rescues: Canine Partners Program Inc Please note: We cannot guarantee breed or breed mix, as our information is often limited to what is observed or shared by a previous owner. All of our dogs are fully vetted, including: • Spay or neuter • Age-appropriate vaccinations • Rabies vaccination • Microchipping • Heartworm and Lyme testing • Deworming • Flea and tick treatment • Heartworm prevention • Any other necessary medical care Foster-to-adopt means the dog will live with you while completing any remaining veterinary care. Once completed, the adoption is finalized. Each adoption includes a 6-week group obedience class (a $125 value). If adopting a puppy under 6 months of age, we cover the cost of spay/neuter at the appropriate time. Paws-in-Prison dogs are not available for adoption until they complete their training program.
