Story
Meet Harley. A standard poodle gentleman with a heart ready for his first real home. 🐩
Harley spent most of his life living in an outdoor kennel where he was used for breeding and produced many puppies over the years. When his former family decided they were no longer going to breed, they asked if we would help find him the loving home he has never truly had.
Since arriving, Harley has shown us just how much he adores indoor life. Soft blankets, cozy spaces, and human companionship are his absolute favorites. He has a very sweet and loving personality. He can be slightly shy when first meeting new people, but that melts away quickly because he genuinely craves affection and connection with his humans.
Despite never living inside before, Harley has not had a single accident indoors. He keeps his kennel space incredibly clean and is honestly one of the neatest dogs we have had in our care.
He has been around children and does great. He also appears to be fairly dog friendly. However, Harley cannot live with small animals of any kind. No cats, goats, sheep, birds, guinea pigs, or similar animals. Standard poodles were originally bred as hunting dogs, and Harley definitely carries that natural prey drive instinct.
When Harley arrived, he was heavily matted and needed to be shaved down. Even with the discomfort of removing tight mats, he stood like a perfect gentleman for grooming. That alone speaks volumes about his temperament and trust.
Standard poodles are known for their intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and strong bond with their people. They thrive when they are included in family life, both mentally and physically. Harley is ready to finally experience that kind of life for the first time.
