Story
LOCATION: Colorado Springs, ColoradoDOB: 8/1/2024Transport available nationwideMeet Ava Luna, a bright, bouncy blend of boxer and poodle with a heart full of charm and a tail that never stops wagging. With her soft curls, sparkling eyes, and signature hello—nose to the ground, rump in the air, tail going wild—she’s impossible not to fall for.Ava is a playful spirit who gets along well with other dogs, often caught sneakily sharing snacks with her furry foster siblings when no one’s watching. She’s curious about cats and will happily chase one for fun, though it’s all in the name of play. She loves children, though her high-energy enthusiasm might be a little much for the tiniest humans. This girl is no rookie—she’s house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash once she settles into the rhythm. She does get excited at the start of a walk, especially if there’s something new to sniff or explore, but she’s learning quickly. She has a big bark and plenty of energy, but never a mean bone in her body. While she can be shy at first, she warms up with kindness and patience, revealing a deeply loyal, affectionate friend.Ava Luna is especially magical in the snow. Watching her romp through fresh powder with unfiltered joy will melt even the coldest winter day. She’s built for adventure, cuddles, and companionship—and she’s looking for a family who can offer all three.Whether you're ready to foster or thinking about a foster-to-adopt journey, Ava Luna is the kind of dog who becomes more than a pet—she becomes part of the fabric of your home, the heart of your everyday.Meet Ava Luna, a bright, bouncy blend of boxer and poodle with a heart full of charm and a tail that never stops wagging. Story
LOCATION: Dallas, TXDOB: 08/01/2024 Meet Paco, a sheepdog-poodle mix with a heart full of sunshine and a spirit that’s still healing. This happy, bouncy pup is pure love in motion—he lives for connection, thrives on affection, and wears his joy right on his shaggy little face. Paco wants nothing more than to be close to his human, soaking up love and returning it tenfold.Despite his playful, loving nature, Paco carries some tender scars from his past. He was left to fend for himself, scavenging for food and learning to share what little he had. While he’s come a long way and no longer fears going hungry, the fear of being left behind still lingers. He gets loud when he’s anxious, so apartment living may not be the best fit. Paco needs a home where someone is often around to reassure him he’s safe and loved. This sweet boy is incredibly sensitive to tone and thrives on kindness. Harsh corrections frighten him—gentle, positive reinforcement is key to helping him continue to trust. He’s doing better every day but still needs someone who understands the importance of patience and compassion.Paco adores other dogs and greets every human like a long-lost friend. He’s even cat-friendly. Children, however, make him a bit nervous, so a home with kids over 12 would be best. He’s still learning how to walk politely on a leash, and does best when walked alone so he can focus without distractions.Play is his favorite language, and he sometimes gets so caught up in it that he forgets to take a potty break. He’s still working on consistent house training but knows how to use a doggie door and is improving with routine. Crates aren’t his favorite—he can hold it for a while, but not too long.Paco has his quirks and one of them will absolutely steal your heart—he’ll pretend he’s been wronged by another dog just so you’ll scoop him up and carry him like a baby. That’s really all he wants: someone to hold him, hug him, and love him through and through. If you're looking for a snugglebug who wants to be your shadow, your teddy bear, and your best friend, Paco is your boy. He’s ready to leave his past behind and dive headfirst into a life full of love.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .For more information, please email us at rescueme@srgdrr.org.
