She currently lives with an 11-year-old child and has been wonderful with him and other children.She is housebroken, crate trained, leash trained, and knows basic obedience. She has no separation anxiety and does very well settling in her crate. She loves to play but also has a great "off switch" and can relax independently.Nebula does very well with large dogs and enjoys having a canine companion. She would ideally have another appropriately matched large dog in her new home.She can be nervous around unfamiliar doorways, stairs, slippery floors, and getting into the car, but responds very well to patience, encouragement, and treats. She is friendly toward people and has no history of food or toy guarding.MedicalNebula has mild dermatitis that is managed with medicated mousse. She is not currently taking Apoquel. She takes fish oil for skin and joint health and eats Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Large Breed Puppy food due to a sensitive stomach. She requires Trazodone for professional grooming because she becomes nervous during grooming.Important Placement InformationNebula has a serious prey-drive issue involving small dogs. She has had three incidents involving an 11-pound Dachshund, resulting in significant injuries, including deep puncture wounds and bruising.Because of this history, Nebula must be considered unsafe around small dogs, cats, and other small animals and will require lifelong management to prevent access to them.This behavior appears to be very specific to small animals. Outside of this concern, Nebula has been loving, social, affectionate, and wonderful with people and large dogs.Ideal HomeNebula would do best with:• An experienced large-breed family• Another appropriately matched large dog, if possible• Children are welcome• No small dogs, cats, or other small animals• A family committed to lifelong management around small animals• Plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, structure, and positive-reinforcement trainingNebula is a truly wonderful dog with so much love to give.
