Story
Addison-female-spayed-1 1/2 years-43 pounds. Hello…. I am Addison. I am about 1 ½ years old and am looking for a happy ending to a rocky start. I am from a situation where I was found alone in an abandoned house. I was taken to a shelter that was very full. Thankfully, nice people from CCHS arranged for me to come to CCHS. I was so scared, in pain, and very shut down. It turns out that I had a broken hip. Thankfully, through generous donations from CCHS supporters, I was able to undergo surgery to fix my hip. I can now run, jump and play like other dogs! Out of habit I still stand with one foot hovering above the ground, which my foster mom says looks silly, but seems normal to me. I have been in foster care for about 3 months where I have been able to heal physically, learn to trust, and find my personality. I have been lucky to have a doggy foster sister who has helped me become more comfortable with new and unfamiliar things. As for my personality.....I am very laid back when indoors and love to nap and cuddle. I sit on my foster parent’s bed for hours watching deer, squirrels, turkeys, and the neighbor dogs. I like to play with and chew up dog toys. I think it is fun to steal socks, shoes, and slippers, but I don’t chew them up. When outside, I am playful and so busy that I don’t hear when I am being called. Because of this, it is probably best if I am in a fenced area or kept on a long line. I absolutely love the snow and am so glad I live in Wisconsin!I understand potty is done outside. I sleep on a dog bed next to my foster sister and my foster parent’s bed, and sometimes I sneak up to snuggle with them during the night. I don’t mind car rides, but am still a bit nervous about where I am being taken. I love going for walks and do well on a leash. I am a friendly gal, and have liked every man, woman, child and dog I have met. I have been introduced to 1 cat, and while it looked interesting I did not engage. I like my scruffy look and hide when my foster mom tries to brush me. Eventually I give in as it seems important to her. I share my food with my foster sister and treats are nice, but I don’t get all excited about them like she does. I only bark when someone approaches the house, or when someone or another dog plays chase with me…. which is a game, I am very fond of! Again, a good reason to keep me in a fenced area or on a long line as I am very good at the game of chase. I sound

Story
Buttercup is 18 months old. She is very shy and has been ever since she was a puppy. She is a very good dog and gets along great with our two Bernese Mountain dogs and our grand kids. She is crate trained. She does keep our 3 cats on edge but especially our male Ragdoll cat. It causes him to not want to use his littler box. That was not an issue until Buttercup showed up. For that reason we need to move on. It’s not fair to either animal. We hate to see her go but it’s unfair to have her in a cage just so the male cat can move around the house. Looking for a loving home that’s willing to work thru her shy tendencies. She has so much potential. Thanks Neil
