Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sugar was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and safely arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 5th December 2025. She’s now warm, safe, and patiently waiting for the family who will love her forever.  We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home Please note: We do not transport dogs. Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Sugar in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend. We do not know the exact breed of our dogs. It is the adopter’s responsibility to review photos and information provided, determine what breed(s) they believe the dog may be, and ensure they have the lifestyle, space, and means to care for the dog properly. Adoption Donation   $699 Located:  in RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details ) Age: 3 mos. old as of 12/3/25 Weight: Est. 10 lbs.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: patricia-lapointe@verizon.net Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sebastian! Sebastian is a handsome young Schnauzer mix with a big heart and even bigger energy! Born around May 6, 2024, and weighing approximately 30 pounds, this lovable boy is ready to start a new chapter after a rough beginning. He was sadly left behind when his family moved away, but thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, Sebastian was rescued and given a second chance at life. Now he’s looking for an active family that will never leave him behind again. Sebastian is full of playful, puppy energy and thrives on companionship—he wants nothing more than to be near his people at all times. He can be vocal when separated or caged away from the family, simply because he loves being part of the action. Daily exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation will help him shine in his new home. If you're looking for a loyal, energetic companion who will keep you smiling and moving, Sebastian is your guy! His adoption fee is $300. Apply to adopt him at www.adoggie4you.org.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 7, 2025, 8:41 am

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This cute little guy is WINSTON but I need to get more pictures of him, I will try today.  He is a pure breed Schnauzer, 1 year old and 12.5 pounds of playful energy.  He is in a home with several fosters big and small breeds and he happily plays with all of them. This guy is a lover as well as he loves to snuggle with me when he is not playing with his pay PEPE or one of the female pugs.  And he walks great on a leash, no pulling, just normal walking. WINSTON was dumped in a far away landfill completely matted with his nails so overgrown they had curved over.  He was great while being groomed for such a long time, he just stood there like a champion. He is well behaved and low maintenance on a daily basis. If you are interested in adopting WINSTON, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         August 20, 2025, 3:13 pm
