Story
This adorable 12-lb/ @ 5-year-old schnauzer mix had a rough start to life—spending the first part of her life living in a yard, overbred and without proper socialization. Because of that, she can be shy when first meeting new people and will need time to feel safe. Agatha is just as sweet as she looks. But don’t let her initial timid nature fool you. With a bit of patience, gentle sweet talk and a treat or two, Agatha quickly starts to blossom. Once she trusts you, she transforms into the ultimate lap dog who wants nothing more than to be your very best friend. Agatha has been fostered with both dogs and cats and does well around them, but she would also be fine as an only dog in the home.  She’s looking for a calm, loving home that understands shy dogs and is ready to give her the kindness she’s always deserved. Thoughtful humans, slow introductions to new things, lots of love and a cozy lap are the keys to Agatha’s heart. needs a chill, small dog savvy home  would love to be the apple of someone's eye shy gal/a thinker best with slow introductions to new things! Story
Otis is a friendly, joyful young boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. He’s social with other dogs and loves to run and play, but he’s just as happy soaking up attention when people are around. Toys of all kinds are a win for him, and food is definitely one of his favorite things.   While the vet estimated Otis to be around 2–3 years old, his behavior tells a different story. He is very much still a puppy at heart and likely closer to one. He’s goofy, floppy, clumsy, and still figuring out how his body works. Otis has a lot of growing and learning ahead of him and will need a home that understands and embraces that stage.   Otis is improving on a leash and enjoys being out and about. He’s expressive and not shy about letting you know when he wants something, whether that’s food, playtime, or attention. After meals, he needs a prompt potty break and does best with a consistent routine.   Training is not optional for Otis. He will need continued structure, boundaries, and guidance to help him mature into a well-mannered adult dog. Because he is mouthy and still learning impulse control, he is not a good fit for homes with small children. He is also not suited for a senior household and will do best in an active home that can meet his physical and mental needs.   Otis absolutely loves playing with other dogs of all sizes and would thrive with a canine companion or regular dog playtime. His behavior with cats is unknown, so we are not considering cat homes at this time.   One important thing to know is that regular grooming will be part of Otis’s routine, so potential adopters should be prepared to keep up with brushing and professional grooming as needed.   One of Otis’s standout traits is his face. He has endless expressions that will absolutely make you laugh and keep you smiling. He’s an outgoing, happy dog who will bring a lot of joy to the right home that’s ready to put in the work and enjoy the ride.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2630165##
