Story
Armani, affectionately called Ari, is one of those little dogs who quietly steals your heart. At just 3 years old and 17 pounds, this sweet Schnauzer has discovered something entirely new in his life: what it feels like to be safe, loved, and part of a family.Ari spent most of his life living outside with an elderly couple who had taken in far more dogs than they could manage. When the local shelter became involved and asked for help, Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in, and Ari finally found himself in a foster home. In only 12 days, this gentle little boy has made an incredible transformation. His foster mom, Taj, says he is wonderfully well behaved in the house and doesn't chew, steal, or get into things he shouldn't. He sleeps quietly through the night and is learning that a crate can be a safe and comfortable place. Even more touching, the frightened, shaking little dog who first arrived is beginning to greet his foster family and ask for affection.Ari is still learning how to relax and truly let himself become part of a family. New people can make him nervous, and he is learning to trust that the world is a safe place. But he is making progress every single day. He loves being near his people and will happily follow them from room to room, even if he hasn't quite decided that being a lapdog is his thing yet.One of Ari's greatest joys is playing with other dogs. He loves to run and romp in the yard until he is completely worn out, and then he is perfectly content to settle down for a peaceful rest. Because other dogs give him confidence and help show him the way, we believe he would thrive with a confident, playful canine companion in his new home. He is learning house manners, leash walking with a harness, and potty training, and his doggie friend is helping teach him the proper way to do things.Ari is a smart, gentle boy who is eager to please. He doesn't need someone to expect him to become confident overnight. He simply needs someone willing to give him patience, kindness, and the time to discover who he can become. In just 12 days, he has already shown us so much of his sweet personality. Imagine what the next few months could bring when this little boy finally knows, without a doubt, that he is home.Armani is fostered in Nashville, Tennessee and is ready to transport to the right family.
