Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Gary is an 18&#226&#128&#145pound gentleman of distinguished age who has fully committed to the art of relaxation. He is, without question, the King of Sleeping. If napping were an Olympic sport, Gary would bring home the gold, the silver, and probably a commemorative snack. When he’s awake, he transforms into a slow&#226&#128&#145moving shadow who follows his human around with the dedication of a very mellow bodyguard. He loves short strolls outside where he can sniff the neighborhood news, feel the breeze, and pretend he’s still a spry young lad. Then he returns inside to resume his royal duties: couch snuggling, belly&#226&#128&#145rub requesting, and gentle snoring. Gary has a few special senior quirks—he’s partially blind, partially deaf, a little wobbly, and needs eye drops and daily pain meds. Stairs are not his thing, but being carried like the tiny prince he is suits him just fine. He’s working on potty training and does well on a schedule, especially since he sleeps through the night like a champion. He’s friendly with everyone, polite with dogs, and happiest in a calm home where he can nap in peace and enjoy his favorite hobby: eating treats. All treats. Any treats. Every treat. Gary is a gentle, affectionate, easygoing old soul who just wants a soft place to land, a cozy lap to snooze on, and someone who appreciates the simple joys in life—like snacks, sunshine, and long, luxurious naps. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Nova—aka Ivy—a BIG, beautiful 6-month-old puppy bursting with personality! Miss Ivy came to rescue when her breeder chose not to address the entropion in her eyes. Thankfully, she landed safely in our care, and her corrective surgery is scheduled for March 9th. Now, let’s talk about this giant girl. With her size and limited early training, Ivy will need a patient, committed adopter—ideally someone with Giant Schnauzer (or similar working breed) experience. She absolutely lives up to the breed’s reputation. Giant Schnauzers are known for being incredibly intelligent, loyal, protective, and deeply bonded to their people. They are natural guardians who take their job of watching over their home seriously. They are also high-energy working dogs who thrive when given structure, purpose, and consistent leadership. Without clear direction and mental stimulation, they can become stubborn, mischievous, and a little too clever for their own good! Ivy is no exception. She’s smart, strong-willed, and needs plenty of mental engagement. Training sessions, puzzle toys, structured play, and eventually a “job” (like advanced obedience, scent work, or agility) will suit her beautifully. If she doesn’t have something to focus on, she’ll happily invent her own entertainment—and you may not love her creativity. Ivy currently has no leash training and tends to freeze when asked to walk. We’re working on it, but her adopter should be prepared for slow, steady progress. New environments can overwhelm her, and in the beginning you may find yourself carrying her into places like the vet (bonus: free arm workout!). She can become overstimulated and a bit nippy, so we recommend a home with older children only. She does well with other dogs but can show some sass and will need appropriate redirection and confident handling. The good news? She’s making progress! Ivy is now sleeping well in her kennel at night and can manage about four hours in it during the day. However, she will need someone home frequently to help her gradually overcome her “I must be with you 24/7” mindset—another very typical Giant Schnauzer trait, as they bond intensely with their people. Because she has no leash skills yet, a securely fenced yard is a must. Additionally, a home without shared walls is required. Ivy is a classic young Giant—devoted, bold, intelligent, and full of potential. With patience, structure, training, and love, she will grow into the loyal, impressive companion this breed is so well known for.    Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Meet Jessie! Jessie is a Schnauzer/Maltese mix. She is a year old, and currently weighs 11.5 lbs.  Jessie is potty trained! She also knows how to "sit," and loves to play fetch! Jessie gets along very well with other small and medium sized dogs.  She is unique as she has a Mini Schnauzer basic build, soft fur like a Maltese, and possibly a bit of Min Pin for good measure. She is currently living with her foster family, and has started to develop a mischievous side! After following one of her humans into the bathroom, she managed to grab the end of the toilet paper roll and scramble quickly out and down the hallway! Jessie is a fun and very happy little pup.  To set up a meet and greet, please complete our dog application here: www.aohrescue.org/dog-adoption-application ##2660714##

Story
Hi there… my name is Angel 💕I’m almost 2 years old, and after raising a litter of puppies, I’m finally ready to find my own forever family.I’m a sweet, goofy girl with a gentle heart and a curious nose. New things make me a little nervous, but I get braver every day and take comfort in my humans’ reassurance. As long as you’re by my side, I’m happy to jump in and go along for the ride—literally! I do great in the car and never get sick.I’m house-trained and working on crate training. I’m smart, treat-motivated, and already know “sit” and “come” (especially if snacks are involved). At around 30 pounds, I’m the perfect size for cuddles, walks, and adventures.I get along well with other dogs but can also entertain myself with toys. I walk pretty well on a leash but can use more practice. I really enjoy spending time outside—sniffing, exploring, and soaking up the fresh air. And when I am done exploring, I will happily lay next to you for belly rubs.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s playful, gentle, and devoted, I might be your girl. All I’m missing now is you—my forever home 💕Can’t wait to meet you! 🐾💖--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Hi! My name is Chocolate Lava, and just like my name, I’m rich, warm, and will always make you feel good inside. I’m a sweet boy who is just looking for his next lap to melt in. I’m happiest when I am snuggling in a comfy bed or getting belly rubs. I have a calm, loving soul and a heart full of love. I also have a playful side, so that’s a perfect combination in my opinion! I love meeting new friends and playing with any toy that I can find. I’m ready to be a loyal companion to anyone who is going to show me as much love as I give. It doesn’t matter what’s on the agenda for the day, I’m just ready to be by your side. I’d love to make your life a little sweeter if you’ll let me! Make sure to check out my brother's DNA results in my pictures. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
