Story
Hi!  My name is Sailor and I am looking for a forever home.  My previous owner had to go into hospice are and has since passed.  Unfortunately, her family already has several dogs and are unable to take me in.  They contacted a small local rescue who reached out to BCAA to see if they could help me and they said yes.  I am schnauzer who is approximately 6 years old and currently weigh just a little over 16lbs so I shouldn't get much bigger and am at a good weight.  When I came into foster, it was obvious that my owner had been unable to care for me for awhile and I had to be shaved all the way down, but my hair is growing back and my foster mom says it doesn't matter as everyone can see what a handsome boy I am.  I would do best in a home as either an only dog or with another female as I can be picky about some male dogs; I haven't bothered the cats I have encountered.  I have done really well in my crate without any accidents or tearing up of my bedding and I love snuggling in my blankets and playing with my toys.  I'm pretty good on a leash and enjoy going for walks. If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Luka is a two to three year old poodle, schnauzer mix who came to NJ from Georgia from a closed down puppy mill. He is approx ten lbs. Luka loves to play with other dogs running around and wrestling with toys. He gets over stimulated by too much human activity so a quiet household, preferably adult only, is best. He seems to prefer females. He is getting use to being held and pampered. Being a resident of a puppy mill did not allow Luka to learn to trust humans. Luka loves to take walks and wander around his foster home's fenced backyard. A fenced yard is required. Luka needs reinforcement with house training which has been difficult with the current freezing and icy weather. If you would like to learn more about Luka, please fill out an application at bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ollie: The Tilted-Head HeartthrobOllie is a 3-year-old mini-Schnauzer who proves that being different is downright adorable. Found in a shelter, his past is a mystery—but his future is all about love, belly rubs, and squeaky toys. He rocks a signature head tilt (likely from a past head injury), and honestly, it just makes him look like he’s permanently curious about your life choices. Spoiler: he approves of them all. Ollie may have some very minor visual deficiencies most likely due to that same head injury but our veterinary partner doesn't see any issues with daily living.  This happy, handsome guy is basically the definition of good vibes. We know he once had a fabulous life as he was decked out in a fancy creative haircut when he was taken into a shelter. He’s great with people, loves hanging out with other dogs, and has mastered the art of looking like the star of every TikTok trend. Ollie doesn’t let anything stop him—he’s too busy spreading joy, wagging his tail, and posing like a canine influencer. Ready to add a little extra tilt to your world? Apply online to adopt Ollie at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. . Because life’s better when you see it from Ollie’s angle. Please be sure to reference this pet's name as Ollie (GA) in case of duplicate names within the rescue. Thank you!RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 12:48 am

Story
Meet our 7-pup litter of Schnauzer/Lab mixes! At three months old, they weigh 10 to 12 pounds and will mature to around 45 pounds. These babies are described by their foster as sweet, friendly, and vocal. They love to lie with their kennel mates and cuddle, so they're obviously dog friendly. And they share their food well. Their names? Here we go! Gandalf, Frodo, Bilbo, Sauron, Eowyn, Arwen, and Aragorn. Phew! Here they are! A great group of pups! (posted 2/13/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **February 13, 2026, 4:02 pm
