Learn more about this event and sign up for 10am Early Entry HERE Age: 2 years Weight: 70 lbs (as of 10/28/26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Denny’s story started with a heartbreak, but we know his next chapter is going to be full of love. This sweet 2-year-old pup was found abandoned, wandering the streets alone. Denny didn't deserve to be left behind, but despite it all, his spirit isn't broken. He is resilient, hopeful, and ready for a fresh start. Because Denny was found as a stray, we don't currently know how he feels about cats or children. He will need a patient family willing to do slow, proper introductions to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable. Denny has spent his youth facing uncertainty, and now he is just looking for a loyal companion who will never give up on him. Could you be the one to show Denny what a real, permanent home feels like? Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment, and is expected to complete treatment with no complications. Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog.
