Meet Rebel! We found him running blindly down the road and do not know too much of his background, but he is showing himself to be people-friendly, playful, and a lot of fun. As we get to know him better, we have learned that Rebel is not a fan of other dogs, and would do best as the only dog in the home. Rebel successfully underwent eye surgery in October 2026 to correct his tear ducts. He may continue to need special care for his eyes, but the surgery has lessened his need for frequent eye medications. Rebel is waiting for his schnauzer-loving forever home! Mika came to us as a surrender, not her fault. She is a very sweet but very timid dog. She is especially scared of men but has warmed up to a few male staff and volunteers. She walks nicely on the leash, and seems to get along with similarly sized dogs. She is also reportedly housebroken (and very clean in her kennel). Mika will need at least two meet-and-greets (maybe more) to ensure she is comfortable before going home.

He’s a very sweet, happy little guy who is still figuring out the world and gaining confidence.Jett is great with other dogs and would do best in a home with a confident, well-adjusted canine companion who can help show him the ropes. He has a gentle, submissive personality and really benefits from having a dog around who can help him feel safe and comfortable.Jett will walk on leash, although he needs some encouragement and confidence-building. Busy, loud environments can be overwhelming for him right now, so a quieter neighborhood would be ideal while he continues to gain confidence and learn that the world is a fun place.As with any puppy, Jett will need a family committed to starting from scratch with training, house manners, socialization, structure, and all the other things that help a puppy grow into their best adult dog. He will most likely be close to 25-30 lbs full grown.Jett is a sweet, gentle boy with so much potential. With the right home, a confident canine role model, and people willing to help him build his confidence, he’ll make a wonderful companion! That beautiful, large-eyed specter you see floating in the corner of the room is Smokey: a blue-gray spirit who, when he ceases to be ectoplasm and acquires solid form, transforms into a beautiful, medium-sized dog with unclassifiable fur. We found him on a full moon night, fluttering around some children playing with a Ouija board. Smokey is a happy ghost, with moderate energy and a sweet, submissive temperament, who isn't quite succeeding at his job as a people-scarer and would prefer to stay on this plane, with humans, so he could eat (he loves to eat!), sleep, play, and follow you everywhere, like the ethereal, pure, and light shadow he is.This dog is currently in foster care in La Paz, Mexico, but will be transported upon adoption or foster placement. As a U.S. nonprofit, Hope 4 La Pawz, handles all logistics and provides full behavioral and medical info in advance.

Meet Patty! This lovely grey girlie is an energetic Poodle mix. She loves to run, play and be active. She is no couch potato! Patty gets along with other dogs and would love to have a friendly pal to share a home with. Patty is just about a year old and did not have the greatest start in life. She is just beginning her training journey and is a smart cookie. She needs some re-directing at times but it eager to learn. She can guard her food bowl at times and we are working on this with her. She is best in a home without young children for this reason. Older kids (10+) are ok. If you like to walk, hike and adventure, Patty is your girl! A home with a yard is a must for this cutie.  Patty is spayed, vaccinated and chipped.
