Story
Meet Garland! Garland is a 2-year-old love bug who might just be the best cuddler you've ever met. He has a beautiful balance of energy and is so happy to head out for walks and outdoor adventures, and equally happy to come home and nap. We are not sure what his breed mix is but he has the look of a little Schnauzer.  He can be cautious with new people at first, but don't let that fool you. He warms up quickly. Once he decides that he loves you, get ready for kisses. Garland has also been around young children and handled it well, after his initial "who are you?" bark. Walks are Garland's favorite, but he has some leash frustration around other dogs: he desperately wants to say hi and get all their information, but his excitement is bigger than he can manage in the moment. He is making real progress with support from SGA's trainer!  His ideal home would be with someone who works from home (he will curl on your lap or nearby). He has separation anxiety, but will likely settle in with some positive training. Due to his separation anxiety he is not suitable for an apartment. He barks when left alone and this will cause noise complaints. He can learn to spend more time alone but this takes time and gentle training. He'll do well with someone willing to keep up the work so he can continue building confidence and calm. He's actually done great meeting dogs one-on-one and would likely do well living with another dog. He's not a big player, but he loves having a canine companion nearby. Older kids are best for him since he can be a little bit nervous with people who approach him quickly. He's not a complicated dog. He just has big feelings and needs a consistent home that will help him grow. In return, you get an incredibly sweet, affectionate companion who will absolutely curl up with you and steal your heart. Garland is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495.  Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon! Story
Searching for a soulmate who thinks your personal space is a myth? Meet Shakira, the tiny Hips Don't Lie honey who is ready to dance her way right into your heart! Shakira isn't just a dog; she’s a portable love bug who has never met a stranger in her life. If you have a face, she has a kiss ready for it, and she’s currently accepting applications for a permanent lap to occupy. She is the ultimate people person in a fuzzy body, seeking out her humans for reassurance and snuggles like it’s her full time job. Whether you’re folding laundry or watching a movie, expect a small, devoted fan following your every move! High levels of cuteness ahead! You have to see her tail wags in action check out her adoption video below! https://youtu.be/lh2NXLRkBDE Shakira is what we call a Velcro Dog, and she wears the title with pride! She is truly special because of her unwavering devotion; she doesn't just want to be in the same room as you, she wants to be part of your soul (or at least your backpack). She is the perfect hang out companion who thrives on human connection. We suspect this black and white beauty is a Schnauzer mix! Shakira is only 19lbs making her the perfect travel size companion. She is small, compact, and incredibly easy to take on adventures, whether you're hitting a cafe or just the backyard. Of course, as with all rescues, her breed mix is our best "educated guess," but her 100% sweetheart status is a verified fact! In her foster home, Shakira has proven to be the ultimate houseguest. She is super gentle and thrives in an environment where she can give plenty of love & kisses to her favorite humans. She’s the type of pup who would be just as happy in a busy family home as she would be in a quiet, pampered life with an older couple. As long as there are humans to worship, Shakira is a happy camper! When it comes to other dogs, Shakira is a gentle player who prefers friends who match her polite energy. She’d do best with a medium to low energy dog sibling who isn't too pushy. She likes her personal bubbles respected, but she’s always down for a calm stroll around the room! How does she feel about feline friends? Well, Shakira has made her verdict clear: she’d prefer to be the only star of the show! She is so focused on her humans that she’d much rather have all your attention to herself no cats for this lady, please The best part about Shakira? She’s adaptable! Whether you have a big grassy yard for her to explore or a cozy apartment for her to patrol, she’s going to thrive. Her ideal home is anywhere her humans are. She’s the perfect match for someone who wants a constant companion to share their life (and maybe their snacks) with. Shakira is a cuddly, sweet, and incredibly affectionate little soul who just wants to belong. She’s gentle, loving, and ready to be your most loyal sidekick. If you're looking for a dog who will truly love you with every fiber of her being, Shakira is your girl! It’s in her name the love doesn’t lie! Ready to start the best chapter of your life?
