Meet Possum 🐾🤎 Possum is a sweet girl who we believe is around two years old. She quite literally showed up under our porch one day and, before we knew it, had wiggled her way right into our home and our hearts. She is incredibly loving and does great with kids, dogs, and other cats, making her a wonderful fit for a home with other furry or little family members. With the arrival of our youngest daughter, life with three little ones under three has gotten very busy, and we’ve struggled to give our cats the attention they deserve. After months of going back and forth, we’ve made the heartbreaking decision to find Possum a new home. This is absolutely not an easy goodbye, so finding the right home for her is incredibly important to us. We would love to find Possum a family who will adore her as much as we do and give this unexpected little porch cat the attention, love, and forever home she deserves. 🤎🐾

She was born on March 28th, she has been wormed, she is litterbox trained, she has never been outside, so she needs to be an inside cat. She loves to be petted but loves her alone time too. She loves to play with anything that catches her eye. She has a little cloth toy fish that she carries around in her mouth, she loves to chase and wrestling with her litter mates. She is a sweet girl! Her color is more of the 1st picture she is a light smokey gray with darker stripes, that is why we call her Smokey. She is shy around strangers and initially wants to hide but she is fine when she feels safe again. Her mother was a stray, she came to my house every day to eat, I realized she was pregnant so I took her in, I am going to keep her momma, but I cannot keep the kids, so I am searching for a forever home.

This is baby, baby is as the name implies a baby! She thinks she gets anything she wants. She loves attention and if won't stop until she gets it! lol she likes to cuddle up on your chest and will press her face against your face like a hug. She is so precious, she was the runt, so we called her baby and spoiled her by paying special attention to her. She loves to run, play, & wrestle with she litter mates, she is an adventurer, she likes to explore things..She has very beautiful markings she is gray with black stripes that almost look like a bullseye on her sides, and she has a white belly with leopard shots on it.

This is Sméagol, I call him that because he loves playing with the ring on my necklace and shiny things. This handsome little black cat is affectionate, will allow you to trim his nails while drowsy, and loves snuggling up to his siblings. If you can adopt one of his siblings with him, it would be preferred.

This is Luma! Named after the little stars from Mario. She is the sweetest little baby, a bit derpy, with an absolute baby face. Photos don’t do her justice. She is an absolute princess, with a subtle/gentle sassiness. She loves her siblings and I’d prefer to adopt her out with one of her siblings if possible. She allows me to trim her nails when she’s sleepy!

This is Rick! (Or tigger) This sweet little dude is the softest, cuddliest little creature. He craves all the attention among his 6 litter mates and actually loses his mind over a churu treat so I recommend forfeiting the whole tube or putting it into a bowl before serving. He loves being held like a baby, accepts a nail trimming when drowsy, and loves his siblings. If possible, I’d like to adopt him out with one of his siblings with him.

Margo came to PAWS pregnant and gave birth to five beautiful babies the very next day. She had been living as a stray on the streets of Cairo, IL, for all of her life as far as we know. But a kind gentleman came to her rescue and began to feed her and provide shelter for her. He was sad to surrender her but said he just could not continue to care for her and just wanted her to be safe. She is THE sweetest cat I have ever known and she is beautiful. (Unfortunately, she is not very photogenic so her pictures really don't do her justice!) She is immediately friendly with everyone and just wants to love and be loved. She is very quiet and calm and has been an exceptionally great mom. Now that she has the babies old enough to go to their forever homes, it is her turn to have the love and comfort of her very own home and family. She has been spayed, microchipped and has a rabies shot. She did test positive for FIV but I pray that does not stop someone from giving this precious girl the life that she deserves. Most research shows that this can only be transmitted to other cats through a deep puncture wound. It is not a danger to humans. She can live a perfectly normal life, she just may not live quite as long as a non FIV cat. Please consider welcoming this girl into your home. Her adoption fee is $100 and she is ready to go home. Lee is one of five kittens that Momma Liza managed to keep alive against all odds. They were found in an alley starving and covered in fleas. Poor Liza was too weak and sickly to even clean herself or her babies. But all of that is behind them and Lee is ready for his new home. He is also a really good helper. He sits quietly in the corner of each litter box and watches me clean it every morning and every evening! He is a very loving boy who also loves to play. Ruby was found on the side of the road during a terrible rainstorm. She was extremely thin, weighing less than 1 lb, dehydrated and covered in fleas. That was almost three weeks ago and now she is thriving. She is playful and curious and full of energy. She is spayed, microchipped, and has her first two vaccines.
