Story
We’re not sure about Veronica’s backstory, but we know that she’s likely been through a lot. It seems as if someone wasn’t always very nice to her because she shuts down in some situations. But she does want to be right with her person, following closely on their heels. We think Veronica is about 6 years old. She is a gorgeous Australian shepherd with a gentle personality. While she is recovering from heartworm treatment, she still has energy and wants to play.  Veronica is deaf and has limited vision. She’s very smart and has learned several touch commands including “good girl” and “come.” She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is housebroken. She sleeps nicely in her pen overnight. Veronica would do best in a home with a friendly dog to help give her confidence. She does not like being left alone for very long, so she’d love someone who is home most of the day. She’d love an active person because she loves to explore and go on adventures. She’d prefer a physical, fenced yard to keep her safe. This sweet, beautiful Aussie is being fostered in the St. Louis area.  ##2378212##

Story
When asked her very favorite thing in the whole world, Nixie couldn’t decide. She loves to be outside exploring the yard. But she also loves playing with balls and soft toys. She equally loves playing games and hanging with her favorite people. She’s just a very well-rounded puppy with lots of interests! Nixie is a mini Australian shepherd mix with a medium amount of energy. She’s not over the top with enthusiasm but she has bursts of excitement, then likes to chill. She’s smart and is working on “come” and “sit.” Because she is deaf, Nixie is learning to respond to hand signals. She’s particularly excited about the treats.  Nixie is still a baby, but she’s working on potty training and crate training. She’d prefer a home where someone is around much of the day and willing to spend time teaching her all the important and fun things. She’d love another friendly dog friend, but she would be fine as the only pup in the house. Nixie would do best with a physical, fenced yard. It would be great if her new person had herding dog experience. Nixie is a happy little pup who loves everything and everyone. She enjoys cuddling at the end of the busy day and just wants a lap of her own.  This sweet puppy is being fostered in the St. Louis area. Story
Blossom’s story is a sad one, but we are working on a happy ending. She was adopted six years ago into a wonderful home where she was deeply loved by her mom. Sadly, her mother developed dementia and had to move into a care facility. Blossom is trying to figure out what’s next for her. Blossom is an Aussie mix who is sweet and has amazing manners. She’s fairly low energy, but loves going on walks, playing fetch, and cuddling on the couch. She adores squeaky toys and has a favorite tennis ball.  Blossom is completely potty trained and is incredibly trustworthy in the house. She has a crate for napping, but she doesn’t need it. She’lll be perfectly content until you come home. She knows so many commands including sit, wait, down, come, paw, bed and crate. She has mild vision loss in one eye, but it doesn’t stop her from anything. Aside from the occasional outing, Blossom really would love to be a homebody. She doesn’t need to have a full social calendar and just isn’t your coffee shop, dog park-kinda girl. She’s happy with you and the couch and loads of snuggles. She is such a happy, sweet girl and so well-behaved. Blossom just loves being loved and giving love. This sweet pup is being fostered in the St. Louis area.
