We’re not sure about Veronica’s backstory, but we know that she’s likely been through a lot. It seems as if someone wasn’t always very nice to her because she shuts down in some situations. But she does want to be right with her person, following closely on their heels. We think Veronica is about 6 years old. She is a gorgeous Australian shepherd with a gentle personality. While she is recovering from heartworm treatment, she still has energy and wants to play. Veronica is deaf and has limited vision. She’s very smart and has learned several touch commands including “good girl” and “come.” She is learning to walk nicely on a leash and is housebroken. She sleeps nicely in her pen overnight. Veronica would do best in a home with a friendly dog to help give her confidence. She does not like being left alone for very long, so she’d love someone who is home most of the day. She’d love an active person because she loves to explore and go on adventures. She’d prefer a physical, fenced yard to keep her safe. Dade is an incredibly handsome 4yearold AKCregistered Australian Shepherd who believes snuggles are life’s greatest joy — though stuffed toys come in a close second. He proudly carries them around like they’re his babies. This bright boy already knows several commands, including sit, down, touch, and watch me. He walks beautifully on a leash, has excellent house manners, and is fully potty trained. He’s also crate trained and settles in nicely. Dade’s only “work in progress” is his enthusiastic hello when meeting new people — he’s just that excited to make friends! He’s looking for an active family who will take him on walks and adventures. One of our detective pups, there’s no mystery about Kojak. He’s full of silly puppy energy and sweetness. This Australian shepherd loves to play, play, play. He thinks other dogs are fantastic, loves all his toys, and always wants to cuddle with his humans. Kojak is hearing impaired and is learning hand signals to communicate. He’s a very bright pup and is already learning “sit” and “down.” He is fantastic with kids and really just loves everyone. Kojak is doing a great job with potty training and will let you know when he needs to go outside. He’s getting the hang of crate training and walking on a leash. He does really well in his crate overnight, settling down right away with no complaints. Kojak would love a home with another playful dog or two. He’d thrive with someone who is active and not gone all day. He requires a physical, fenced yard for safe zoomies. Kojak is a very happy, very sweet puppy who really loves to play and be around his family. Blossom’s story is a sad one, but we are working on a happy ending. She was adopted six years ago into a wonderful home where she was deeply loved by her mom. Sadly, her mother developed dementia and had to move into a care facility. Blossom is trying to figure out what’s next for her. Blossom is an Aussie mix who is sweet and has amazing manners. She’s fairly low energy, but loves going on walks, playing fetch, and cuddling on the couch. She adores squeaky toys and has a favorite tennis ball. Blossom is completely potty trained and is incredibly trustworthy in the house. She has a crate for napping, but she doesn’t need it. She’lll be perfectly content until you come home. She knows so many commands including sit, wait, down, come, paw, bed and crate. She has mild vision loss in one eye, but it doesn’t stop her from anything. Aside from the occasional outing, Blossom really would love to be a homebody. She doesn’t need to have a full social calendar and just isn’t your coffee shop, dog park-kinda girl. She’s happy with you and the couch and loads of snuggles. She is such a happy, sweet girl and so well-behaved. Blossom just loves being loved and giving love. Kane and Audrey were part of a litter of seven 6-week old puppies brought into an overburdened rural shelter. Their mother had been found nearby, struck by a car — leaving her babies orphaned, emaciated, and so cold they were barely hanging on. Despite the shelter’s best efforts, all the puppies except Kane and Audrey passed away. These puppies are fighters. They’ve bounced back from fleas and worms of all kinds, as well as sarcoptic mange, and are ready to start their new lives. A DNA test found that Kane and Adurey are mostly Australian shepherd and husky mixes. They are both very sweet and smart and love playing, running, and having fun with toys. Kane is a little more timid than his sister. He’s snuggly and just wants to crawl up inside you because the world is a little frightening. Audrey is braver and more outgoing. She crushes on every boy dog she meets and just wants to be close to them. The pups are each looking for a new home. (They will not be adopted together.) Caterpillar’s captivating blue eyes will be what you notice first, but his fun and charming personality is what you'll truly fall in love with. This Australian Shepherd mix puppy is the sweetest and most perfect mix of silly and snuggly. Caterpillar loves to play in water and to wrestle with his foster dog siblings. He has silly puppy energy spurts, but mostly he's a chill and relaxed little guy that loves to curl up with you on the couch and just hang out. While he’s independent and curious, he also always likes to have his person in his sight line for attention and direction. Caterpillar is deaf and is doing awesome with hand signals. He does terrific on a leash and is crate trained for when you have to be away. He is accident free while he sleeps with his foster momma every night and he’s making great strides on potty training during the daylight hours too.
