Story
Meet Ralphie — a 10-month-old herding breed mix with so much potential Ralphie came to the shelter after being rehomed through Facebook, and the transition was understandably hard on him. When he first arrived, he was very fearful, especially in the kennel environment. The noise, chaos, and confinement were overwhelming for a puppy who has already been bounced around. At first, Ralphie showed his fear by snapping at the leash and baring his teeth. But with the patience and calm guidance of a dedicated staff member, he was taken around the building — and that’s where his potential began to shine.Once outside the kennel and given space, Ralphie started to come out of his shell. Thanks to that one staff member who believed in him and slowly introduced him to the rest of the team, Ralphie has continued to make progress. The kennel remains a scary place for him, and returning to it is especially difficult — this is not part of his behavior test, but rather a sign of stress in a loud, high-traffic environment.Ralphie will thrive in a home that understands fearful dogs and is willing to invest in his confidence.Ralphie’s ideal home: No kids Low-traffic, calm environment Patient adopter willing to go slow Confidence-building and positive reinforcement training Structured routine with clear expectations Active lifestyle to meet his herding breed needs Nosework or scent-based activities strongly encouraged A fenced yard may be beneficial to allow safe, healthy exerciseRalphie isn’t a bad dog — he’s a young dog who’s learning how to feel safe again. With structure, patience, and someone willing to see past his fear, he has the potential to become an incredible companion. If you’re experienced, calm, and ready to help a dog grow, Ralphie may be the one waiting for you.

Story
Meet Annie! This adorable little Border Collie mix pup is as smart as she is snuggly. She loves chasing toys, exploring the yard, and then curling up in your lap for well-deserved cuddle time. Annie’s Perfect Home: • Someone ready to give her love, attention, and patience with earning her full trust. She’s timid and shy around strangers. • She doesn’t like to be left alone for too long, but she does do well on her own. She just misses her human when you leave. •She does well in a crate at night, but she’d love to sleep with you or at least where she can see you. •She gets along well with other dogs but needs patience and slow introduction. She does not do well around children, so a no child household required. Social settings are also a no-go. •Does well with potty training but needs to be taken out often and reminded how good of a girl she is. Treats are a plus. • The absolute best companion and extremely loyal to her person. • Bonus if you love extra kisses. She is very affectionate to her person. Annie promises to fill your days with companionship and unconditional love.
