Story
Quinn is a beautiful tricolor Australian Shepherd who has known a lifetime of love — and now finds himself needing one more chance. At 6 years old, this mellow, kind-hearted boy is not old, just settled and soulful. He was raised from a puppy by elderly owners who adored him completely, and while that love came with far too many extra meals and treats, it also gave Quinn a gentle spirit and deep trust in people. He currently weighs around 80 pounds, but with properly measured food and daily walks, his healthy weight of 50 to 55 pounds is well within reach. Quinn’s life was turned upside down when his owners moved into assisted living, and he had to say goodbye to the only home he had ever known on New Year’s Eve. He misses them, and that quiet sadness lingers, but it has not dimmed his sweetness or his willingness to connect. He has lived harmoniously with cats, dogs, chickens, and goats, and brings a calm, respectful presence wherever he goes. This boy is housebroken, non-destructive, and content to relax when left alone. He can use a crate if needed but does not require one. Right now, stairs are difficult due to his weight, but he manages them and will improve greatly as his health journey progresses. With gentle daily walks, proper portions, and a human who believes in him, Quinn can safely lose weight and rediscover the joy of movement over the coming months. Quinn has many good years ahead of him and so much love still to give. He doesn’t need perfection — just patience, understanding, and someone willing to walk beside him as he begins again.
