Story
Nala is such a sweet dog and is amazing with our young children. We have had her since she was a puppy and our girls love her. She is a red heeler/lab mix. She is terrified of loud noises. The military bombing, thunder storms, and fireworks fear has gotten worse with each year. She is 9 years old and while we have her on dog Prozac she keeps injuring herself due to her fear. We work full time and always have kid activities. Nala can’t be left in our backyard because she will jump the 6 ft fence so she has always been kennel trained. When a thunder storm or noise comes through when we are not home though she has started ripping herself out of her kennel. She has broken off her canine teeth, bloodied herself, and now just ripped a toenail off. We love her but I hate she keeps injuring herself over her fear. I hope we can find a home for her where she can remain with someone that doesn’t have to leave her alone and can be there to comfort her.
