Story
Meet Tanbobby! DOB: December 2019Weight: 33 lbsDisposition: Tanbobby is a confident, friendly dog who approachs visitors readily. He gets along with all the other dogs and is a bit of a leader. When out walking, Tanbobby walks calmly and confidently wherever he goes, including busy and noisy areas. When he walks past other dogs, he likes to sniff and then continue walking. In the off lead areas, Tanbobby confidently explores the surroundings and approaches people and enjoys being touched and petted.History: Tanbobby arrived at Soi Dog Foundation’s hospital in December 2024 with a stab wound to his belly. Furtherexamination by the vets determined he also had injuries to his stomach, spleen and intestine. Tanbobby required surgery and recovered through supportive care and treatment. He came to TBL in April 2026 to find his forever family.Tanbobby arrived at TBL from our partner rescue, Soi Dog in Thailand, and he has already become a volunteer favorite. He’s 6 years old, about 34 lbs, and looks like a tiny Akita. His rich chocolate-colored coat is absolutely stunning.Tanbobby came to Soi Dog after suffering a stab wound to his abdomen—something no dog should ever endure. Thankfully, he received the life-saving care he needed and has made a full recovery. Now, he’s ready to find his forever family.Tanbobby is a friendly but initially reserved and independent boy. He does well with other dogs but tends to coexist rather than actively play. He’d be perfectly happy as an only dog, though he could also join a calm, respectful pack. In his current large playgroup, he prefers to stay on the sidelines—content, relaxed, and drama-free.The very most entertaining part of Tanbobby: He does a happy dance when he wants your attention where he gets up on his hindlegs and waves his front paws in the air. It is the best thing and absolutely adorable. He has low to moderate exercise needs. Tanbobby enjoys walks and hikes but doesn’t require anything too intense. He has a sweet, gentle personality—he may take a moment to warm up, but once he does, he loves pets and quiet attention. With his expressive face and unique look, Tanbobby is truly special. After everything he’s been through, he deserves a soft bed, kind people, and a lifetime of love and comfort ❤️ If you're interested in meeting Tanbobby, please visit our website to fill out an adoption application: www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptOur dogs are located in San Diego County, CA. Story
DOB: June 2019 Weight: 40lbs Disposition: Engaging, Happy, and ConfidentMeet this spirited and handsome pup, Danillo! Danillo is an incredibly brave boy. He was saved from the streets of Thailand by our partners at the Soi Dog Foundation and underwent months of treatment, love and affection to completely transform into his now happy-go-lucky nature. He has taken to his new rescued life with enthusiasm!Danillo will put on a huge smile for the TBL volunteers and any others who happen to come by with pets or a tasty treat (or simply a "good boy" - he's not that picky). He comes when he's called and loves attention. Some of his favorite pastimes include: chasing and being chased, cooling off in the kiddie pool, and hanging out with the volunteers at the Ranch. The icing on the cake? Danillo is housebroken and non-destructive. Story
Kane is a friendly and affectionate 2-year-old dog who’s playful, energetic, and full of love. He’s a little quirky at times, but he’s truly a great dog and would thrive in a home that can give him consistent walks, exercise, attention, and companionship. Kane was rescued in Detroit as a puppy after being saved from euthanasia, and we adopted him when he was about 10 weeks old. Because of his early experiences, he can sometimes be skittish, but he’s very loving once he feels comfortable. He’s also extremely food motivated and tends to eat quickly. With an infant now in our family, it’s become harder to give Kane the daily activity and attention he deserves. We’re hoping to find him a patient, caring home where he’ll have plenty of opportunities to walk, run, play, and be loved.

Story
How this pet arrived:Fancy Nancy was brought in by a community member on June 5, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you: Ooh-la-la! Make way for the most elegant wallflower in town: Fancy Nancy! While her name might suggest her life is all glitter and glam, this refined lady actually prefers a much more "quiet luxury" lifestyle. Nancy is a sensitive soul who finds the world a bit overwhelming and is quite nervous when it comes to touch. She is looking for a family that understands that "fancy" doesn't always mean "flashy," it means being patient and respecting her boundaries. Since she isn't walking on a leash just yet, she requires a private, enclosed potty space where she can handle her "business" with the privacy a lady deserves. To ensure a perfect fit, she's looking for a home without young children (under 12) and would like everyone in the household to be present for her debut. Expect a slow-burn romance with this gal - it will likely take an extended period of time for her to feel comfortable, so her adopters should never force an interaction. The golden rule is to always give her the choice to come closer or retreat to her "boudoir" for some alone time. While she may not be a fan of forced snuggles, you can absolutely bond over the finer things in life - like gourmet treats, yummy food, and gentle play. Nancy is a homebody who will likely always be a timid spirit, so she won't be joining you at busy cafes or crowded parks. Her future family should be prepared to continue her training and work with a vet to maintain her comfort through a specialized care plan or continued medications. If you are ready to advocate for a dog who does things at her own pace, Fancy Nancy is ready to (slowly) move into her new chapter with you! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for adoption! Primary Color: Ginger Secondary Color: White Weight: 26.8 Age: 1yrs 0mths 2wks
