Story
Meet Barklee Barklee is a big puppy who is still learning how to behave. He is easily trained with commands when not distracted. He loves to cuddle and loves blankets. He is still food-motivated, but his favorite treats are ice cubes! As much as he loves people and getting attention, he is still very reactive to other dogs (particularly males). So, continued training is required. With his size (approximately 75 lbs), the fact that he doesn’t know his size or strength, and he’s still learning to make good choices, an ideal home environment at this time would be: - No young children - Single-family home; no apartment - Fenced yard at least 5ft high - No cats - No dogs, unless you’re able to integrate Barklee into the home well over time. He currently lives with two female dogs that were already in the home; they are 50-60 lbs (one dominant, one submissive). However, it’s uncertain whether an existing male/female or dominant/submissive dog in a new home would make a difference/be better - Not being left alone for long periods. He’s used to having at least one person at home or the two other dogs at all time. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Story
Hi, I’m Lainey I’m a brindle Mastiff with a huge heart and an even bigger love for people. I was underweight and recovering from a fractured pelvis, but I’ve healed up well and am doing great now. I won’t be running marathons, but I’m perfectly happy strolling a fenced yard and can climb stairs with no problems. I’m an affectionate, gentle giant who truly believes everyone is a friend. I love being with my people; whether that means following you from room to room or simply relaxing nearby. I’ve done well with dogs of all sizes, from tiny Pomeranians to large dogs like Belgian Malinois. Even if a dog startles me out of a sound sleep, I’ll only give them a big woof and then curl back up. I don’t enjoy being left alone and have shown my frustration by chewing on a pillow, my dog bed, and bending the crate I was in. If I need to be crated, I do best in a large, heavy-duty “lion-style” crate rather than a wire one. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who wants nothing more than to share life by your side, I might be your girl. Lainey currently weighs about 100lbs, is approximately 5-6 years old (est. birth date 04/27/2023), and her adoption fee is $315. Lainey has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Lainey, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Booney is a mantled Great Dane mix in black and white and is approximately 2 years old. In classic Great Dane style, he is a cuddly boy who LOVES to be with his people and his dog friends [who are small terrier mixes (18 and 21 pounds, respectively)]. We have not tried him around cats or children at this time. Booney is housetrained and crate trained (although he is not overly happy to go in). He is a very curious boy and is always interested in what the action of the home is. Booney is an incredibly happy dog and one with a ton of charm and personality. Weighing in at 137 pounds, Booney is a gentle giant but a giant nonetheless. Experience with large breeds is needed. We are working on Booney's etiquette around food and his skills on a leash. He is incredibly intelligent and gets concepts so quickly, so we know he will be an excellent companion once taught right from wrong. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies!
