Marmaduke, a delightful mix of Great Dane and Shepherd, is a heartwarming addition to any family. His enormous size is only surpassed by his equally large heart, which he generously shares with everyone he meets. While Marmaduke's past wasn't without its challenges, having battled heartworms in 2019, his previous owners ensured he received the necessary treatment, and today, he proudly carries a heartworm-negative status. Nonetheless, maintaining his heartworm prevention regimen is essential for his continued well-being, and he'd thrive under the loving care of a family that can provide just that. Despite his imposing stature, Marmaduke remains blissfully unaware of his size, firmly convinced that he's the ideal lap dog. His affectionate nature knows no bounds, and he relishes the opportunity to snuggle up with his human companions. While he can be selective, he displays an innate gentleness when in the company of older dogs, drawing from his previous experience living harmoniously with senior canine companions. However, he can be leash reactive when meeting other dogs, and needs someone who will take the time to give him a proper introduction to any canine companions. Now, this lovable giant eagerly awaits a forever home where he can continue to share his boundless love, warmth, and joy with his new family.

Deuce's great qualities include his sun-worshiping laziness; his complete and utter trust he has in those he knows; the devotion he demonstrates towards his canine friends (generally female, but not exclusively); his total "derpiness" and child-like innocence he expresses as he goes about his day-to-day life. Deuce loves his stuffed toys and shares them nicely with his friends but will play just as enthusiastically with a little stick from the mulch pile. He's not crazy about water but will tolerate baths. He gets to leave the shelter to hang out with a few of his beloved volunteers and has done well at dog-friendly establishments. Deuce has a little extra in his swagger, kind of a "John Wayne" walk. You won't see it at first but occasionally you'll catch a skip in his gait. That just makes him even more interesting and endearing. It doesn't interfere with his walks, jogs or dog play! Deuce will thrive in home with another dog. He can be a bit needy if left all alone, but his loyal volunteers note that completely stops when he's got a canine friend to reassure and show him the ropes. Deuce is loving, loyal and will melt to the ground when doted on. He is chill, laid back and ready to give you his all. Come meet Deuce! Deuce has been with PAWS since August of 2021. This sweet boy needs out.
