Meet Charley — a gentle giant looking for his soft landing.Charley is a 160-pound Mastiff with an even bigger heart. At around 4 years old, this handsome boy came to us as a stray, and we suspect he may have been left behind by the person he loved most. Since arriving at the shelter, Charley has understandably been a little down — the noise, the change, and the uncertainty have been a lot for a sensitive soul like his.But when you spend even a moment with him, you see who Charley truly is. Beneath that quiet, heavy-hearted exterior is an incredibly affectionate dog who craves connection. When you stop to pet him, he melts completely, leaning his full weight into you in the sweetest, most trusting way — a true Mastiff hug. He doesn’t ask for much right now; mostly, he just wants someone nearby and reassurance that he’s safe again. Charley walks nicely on leash and has excellent potty manners. That said, he is a very big, very strong boy who knows his size. If Charley decides it’s time to go (or time to stay put), you’ll absolutely feel all 160 pounds of opinion. Because of this, he’ll do best with an experienced owner who can comfortably handle his strength while appreciating the gentle, sensitive spirit inside his giant frame.haven’t seen much interest in toys yet — at this stage, companionship seems to matter far more to him than playtime. What Charley truly wants is stability, kindness, and a soft place to land where he can finally relax and be someone’s loyal shadow again. If you have room in your home — and your heart — for a devoted companion who will love deeply and lean heavily (literally), Charley is waiting to meet you.Adoption Fee: $110 Dogs come spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated with their first set of vaccines including DAPP (parvo combo) and Bordetella (kennel cough). They have been dewormed with Pyrantel and treated with selamectin for fleas.Our website updates every hour, but some animals may be adopted faster than listings can be updated.
