Meet Daffodil! This bouncy gal transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society! She was found running at large with her buddy Minnie (also for adoption, not a bonded pair), and they made their way safely to the shelter. Daffodil was scared and wary of the other dogs at first. Now, she loves to hang out with all her new friends, bounces around for attention, loves to climb onto our shoulders, and just wants to be loved! This puppy is looking for a home that can continue to help her grow into a confident adult. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Story
Meet Carlito! Carlito has come a long way since his transfer to us from the San Diego Humane Society. He was shy, frightened, and emaciated, so we knew we would have to take an extremely gentle approach with this little guy. Carlito is such a cutie! He has since completed his weight gain and is happy and healthy! He has shown us how wild and silly he can be with his friends as they race around the play yards! While he can be a bit skittish at times, he allows us to give him gentle rubs, kisses, and will even close his eyes when we hit his favorite scritch spot: his chest and chin! We highly recommend checking out Carlito's birthday post as it will elaborate on the behavioral considerations listed below: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid02MgpVtUMYLWnz72nPMAt5PFAu8evecv9a4QFWDDVjeuceosSxsWYU6vgqXutNtDWpl Behavioral considerations: Carlito is quite scared of the world outside of the rescue facility. He enjoys the known such as his routine and our staff. He will do best in a kind, gentle, patient, and quiet home that is understanding of his need to take new things slowly and at his pace. Due to evading capture for quite some time prior to being caught by Humane Law Enforcement with a catchpole, Carlito is terrified of being harnessed, will alligator roll when he feels the resistance of a leash/lead, and will dart out of a door or escape route should the opportunity present itself. He also prefers not to be held as this feels constricting to him but will gladly hop onto a trusted person's lap for gentle snuggles. He is a street survivor after all, and his small stature means he had to be fast, agile, and smart to survive. An escape-proof yard is a must for him to safely have fun, explore, and race around as he so loves to do! He's so fast! Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Story
Meet Minnie! This adorable gal transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society! She was found running at large with her buddy Daffodil (also for adoption, not a bonded pair), and they made their way safely to the shelter. We noted a limp on her hind right leg shortly after transfer. A vet visit, and subsequent x-ray, determined she had a past femur injury as a metal plate was attached to assist with healing. The femur had healed, but the plate work was poorly done. This caused it to jut out towards her outer thigh, causing internal abrasions and lots of pain. We quickly scheduled her for plate removal, and all went well! She went into foster care as she was in a cast after surgery. She has since healed and had the cast removed and continues to stay in her foster home as she's just so darn cute! She shares her foster home with 5 other dogs (8lbs-80lbs), 1 long-term foster dog (Penny), 4 cats, 2 guinea pigs, and 2 birds. Minnie is such a cuddlebug who wants to be held and doted on as much as possible! She finds the guinea pigs and birds to be entertaining, follows me around the house, and is most happy when it's snuggle time! If you are looking for an inquisitive, sassy, loving little girl, this mighty Minnie is ready for you! Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
