Story
My daughter found this little guy wandering the streets on the out skirts of San Bernardino. He was very dirty, covered in fleas & obviously neglected. The temperature was well into the 90's. She brought him home and started posting on all social media platforms about a found dog. She checked any lost and found pet sites, but nobody called for him. Since that time, he has been living with me, his “ grandmother”. But we already have two large dogs, that are playing too trough with him. He gets along great with our cats. This is the sweetest little guy, but he needs to find a permanent home. He would love to have somebody that is home all day to lay at their feet (Or next to them on the couch, if that is allowed). He gets along well with my two larger dogs, but they are young and very rambunctious. So during the day, when I am at work he either has to be outside with them, or locked up in a crate. Which is not fair to him. He is neutered & microchipped. Guessing he is about 5 yrs old.

Story
This foster of mine, Summer Sunshine loves the sun, she'll pull herself out, of the back door to get some. And yes I said pull, because she can't walk, but she sure likes to bounce and she loves to talk! On Wheelchair Wednesday, our favorite day of the week, she puts on her wheels, and heads towards the creek. Out the door she will run, and bark to "keep up!", I really didn't expect to run with this pup! The people passing by all stop to take a look, she brings them such joy, like a Harry Potter book. Up the hills she will roll, off curbs and across the street, she really goes fast for a pup with two feet! Her diapers are cute, her attitude is spicy, she's snuggly, she's tiny, and a wee bit feisty. She's only two years old, but has been through so much, run over by a car and bitten by another pup. This foster of mine, you just have to meet, she'll wriggle into your heart, especially if you have a treat!

Henry is an 8 pound bundle of energy! He's likely around 10 years old, but you'd never know it with his playfulness and a tail that never stops wagging! Henry loves other dogs!Henry is wary of strangers and feels the need to protect himself. Once he trusts you though, he's the biggest snuggler & will be your tiny shadow. He'll even keep your toes warm by sitting on your feet whenever you're standing in the kitchen! Due to his fear aggression, he should be in a home with no children. Henry will need a human who can work with him to trust new humans with positive reinforcement. He is potty trained, but does mark in new places. Luckily, he doesn't mind belly bands at all! Henry loves to go on walks & run around with other dogs. He recently had a dental and was neutered. He's up to date on shots & flea and tick prevention. Story
Meet Teddy, a tiny nugget of love who is looking for his forever home. Weighing in at under 6 lbs, Teddy may be small in stature, but he has a big heart. At approximately 14 years old, he's a super senior who's seeking a calm and loving retirement home.Teddy is deaf and visually impaired, but that doesn't stop him from exploring his surroundings. He's a brave little explorer, both indoors and in the yard, and he enjoys discovering new scents and textures. Teddy's favorite pastime is taking cozy naps in a comfy bed. He's a connoisseur of comfort and appreciates a soft, warm spot to rest. At night, he prefers to sleep in his dog bed in the room with his humans, where he can feel safe and loved.Due to a recent dental cleaning and the loss of most of his teeth, Teddy needs soft foods. He's now pain-free and has a healthy appetite, steadily gaining weight. He's a little gourmet in the making! Teddy is a resilient and easygoing companion who's not phased by much. He prefers the company of calm dogs and gentle children who will treat him with the tenderness he deserves. He's good at going potty outside if he can find his way or is taken out regularly. He doesn't mind wearing a belly band when needed, making it easier for his human friends to ensure he stays clean and comfortable.Teddy is a remarkable little man who has blossomed into a whole new version of himself now that he's free from pain and discomfort. He's ready to enjoy his golden years in the comfort and care of a loving retirement home. If you're looking for a tiny, sweet companion to share your life with, Teddy could be the perfect addition to your family and all you need to do to find out is complete an application here at https://lionelslegacy.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Tanner is a very sweet and calm senior boy about 12y that just wants to be where you are. He does not bark, bother with your things or even play with toys for that matter. He does love people, kids as well as treats. He has been the perfect indoor pet, who just wants to hang out and spend most of his day relaxing or hanging with you. Tanner loves to go on walks, hikes, trips to the dog park on a regular basis (but mostly just walks around and not pay too much attention to the other dogs), and seeing new places. He's been on several road trips, camping, pampered at the finest dog friendly hotels, flown to D.C, and even climbed every step of the Lincoln Memorial.Tanner has had spinal surgery, so he has a bit of a limp and needs to be picked up correctly. He needs blankets underneath him when resting (hard for him to lay flat), not climb many stairs if possible. Other than that, he runs around just fine.

Story
This dog was born from another dog of mine that I have. He is 5 years old. I would love for him to have a new loving home since I can no longer take care of him. He stays in his cage well and will listen whenever you let him out to play. He loves playing with dog toys such as pull ropes. He is energetic and playful. He does like to bark at other dogs at first until you get to meet him.

Story
Meet Minnie!  She was seen being tossed from a vehicle in a rural part of the county.  No one could find her and assumed her dead in an area thick with predators (owls, coyotes and cats of all sizes).  Days later she popped up, frightened and ran if anyone approached.  After reports of repeated sightings she was humanely trapped and her new life began.  No owner came claim to her so she went to foster where she decompressed and started to learn about love.  She was under a year old and clearly knew little of human touch or kindness.  After several months she learned to trust, walk on leash, bond and love.  Due to foster circumstances her time there had to terminate and she has continued her journey on site at the rescue facility.  After a year she tugs the heart strings of all volunteers with her sad dopey eyes, desperate need to love and be safe.  She loves. her "normal".  She is always eager to go on her walks and does great with those she can trust.  She struggles with new people but is eager to please, treat motivated and warms up quickly if you go slow and let her lead.  She wants to snuggle.  Pillows are her favorite spot in bed.  She wants to be your shadow.  Despite her fear of people she is happy to go on adventures and enjoys her time in the company of those that make her feel safe.  She can be around dogs but does not share so can't live with other pets because she guards her stuff and people with animals (NOT people).  She has the little dog complex and no fear when taking on an animal challenge, which for sure is how she survived her time amidst the wilderness.  She continues to work on her world bravery with pack walks and outings but has done her time and is due for her home.  She has recurring cherry eye on both sides.  One has already been addressed surgically but came back.  Vet recommendation is to leave it alone if surgery did not cure and it presents no discomfort or irritation.  It comes and goes and does not bother her.  Vet's words were it looks worse to us than it feels to her.  Can you be patient, love unconditionally, have no expectations other than a deep soul connection?  If so, this girl is for you. Flight Risk: do not leave unattended in a yard, crate training is a must when you are gone, tight grip on the leash is a must on adventures. Must be aware of open doors and windows.  Can NEVER be offleash in unfenced areas for life.To adopt: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/37765/genericTo foster: https://petstablished.com/foster_form/37764/genericEmail: awayhomefordogs@gmail.com ##1318876##

Story
Meet Oreo! This cute little fluffball (along with his Pomeranian pals) was rescued by our team and our neighbors after being dumped a block away from our facility. He was taken to San Diego County Animal Services to undergo his legal stray hold prior to being transferred back into our care. Oreo is as outgoing as most pups are, with plenty of energy! While he does have his energetic puppy moments, he is also very laidback for a puppy and will gladly focus on playing with a toy/chew or enjoy relaxing with his friends! Check out Oreo and the Pomeranian's rescue story here: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid0xrBv6ELHxosXqRgiyArkfonwYEfvT7tKhUMeJUiZKDyPXJysouPF3rcpfj8bYt92l Important Health Info: Oreo has cryptorchidism, meaning one of his testicles did not descend and is somewhere in his abdomen. He is scheduled for an ultrasound to locate the undescended testicle on May 3rd and will be having surgery to remove it a short time after. Any complications will be listed here, otherwise his health note will be removed once this is resolved. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Story
Meet Prince! This regal boy (along with his Pomeranian pals) was rescued by our team and our neighbors after being dumped a block away from our facility. He was taken to San Diego County Animal Services to undergo his legal stray hold prior to being transferred back into our care. Prince is an outgoing boy who loves to be the center or attention and affection! He is happy being held and will calmly enjoy the ride and is energetic, and on the go, when you set him down! Prince will do best in a home that can give him loads of attention, affection, and exercise to keep this royal boy happy! Check out Prince and the Pomeranian's rescue story here: https://www.facebook.com/heartofgoldsshelter/posts/pfbid0xrBv6ELHxosXqRgiyArkfonwYEfvT7tKhUMeJUiZKDyPXJysouPF3rcpfj8bYt92l Additional behavioral considerations: ESCAPE ARTIST. Prince is a little survivor and almost evaded capture (when he was originally dumped and running at large) by climbing a fence and squeezing his way through it. As an escape artist, Prince easily leaps over our 3.5ft. pony wall where we store supplies. Additionally, he can expertly climb x-pens, chain-link fencing, and any type of fencing that provides ample opportunity to climb or leap across. Escape proofing a home will be a must. He is always excited for any opportunity to dash or climb away as he believes the grass is greener on the other side. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
