Snoop Doggy

Chihuahua Dachshund

Male, 3 yrs 6 mos
Indianapolis, IN
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Hey, if you are looking for a happy and playful companion, look no more! Snoop Doggy is a young "chiweenie" with an emphasis on the doxie behavior and the chihuahua appearance. What a terrific combo! He might have a little something else, (extra) in there too, but we don't check DNA. He likes to play and run, and he knows about using a doggy door to run into his fenced backyard. He is very loved but was higher on the action and energy scale than his owner could comfortably handle. Snoop will climb a 3 and a half foot chain link fence, so he needs a privacy fenced yard and leashed walks would be ideal. Snoop Doggy will do great with a human that enjoys walks so he can go along, and he is fine with dogs his size. He would do best with an experienced adopter and obedience training would give the best results for this very smart guy with lots of energy. Focused activities and a routine is what he does best with. Snoop has run out an open door in the past, so a secure enclosure and being on a leash at all times outside of the enclosure is a must, He is a little chubby at 14# but focused exercise and a portion-controlled diet will help get him to the right weight. Older kids would be great with the emphasis on training and structured play. Children and pets should be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Snoop Doggy is neutered and microchipped, he is UTD on vaccines and heartworm and flea prevention. His adoption fee is $325

Chihuahua Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)

Female, 1 yr
Indianapolis, IN
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Pinky is a sweet little girl that arrived with 7 other pets from a multiple pet intake. She will thrive in a home where a person can give her attention. She is a good eater and since she had poor nourishment prior to coming to rescue, a high quality food is necessary. Pinky has started on Heartworm and flea treatment, and she is doing well with the other pets in her foster home. She is initially a little worried over new people and she will bond easily with one person. She will alert like most terriers and chihuahuas do to sounds and doorbells, etc... so she might be a good pet for those that a little hard of hearing. She is a young pet and has a medium high energy level. A fenced secure enclosure is helpful and leashed walks would be great for her. Since Pinky is so young, puppy small dog training classes would also be a plus for her. She seems to be very smart. Getting her share of food was a daily struggle so free feeding and sharing a common food dish is discouraged. Having scheduled feedings in a controlled setting would be best. Pinky is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped and on heartworm and flea prevention. Pinky weighs about 6# but could gain weight. Her adoption fee is $375. If you would like to meet Pinky, submit an application, to get that scheduled!
