Please contact Constance ( for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react.  Hi! My name is Cookie, and I am a sweet Poodle girl who was born 1/29/22, and I weigh 5 pounds. I have a sister Honey, also 5 pounds, whom I adore so we are looking for a home together with no other dogs. I  need a quiet home with no children or cats and a secure, fenced in yard, no chain link or iron, as we are escape artists but must have room to run and play; no apartment living, please.  We are not potty trained nor are we leash trained. We lived in a breeding cage our first year so we will need an experienced adopter in an adult home only, who has ample time, patience and love to teach us how to be the perfect pets/companions we were always meant to be. We are sweet, social and very loving. A home visit is required and in state AZ, adoptions, only. If you have been waiting for a sweet Poodle, please ask for me on your application to Love, Cookie 012223-13 and Honey 012223-12  February 29, 2024, 3:40 pm

Toy Poodle

Female, Senior
Glendale, AZ
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Good with dogs, Good with cats, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Welcome Mina.  Mina is a 15 pound, black Toy Poodle. We estimate Mina’s age to be around 9 or 10 years.  Mina came into rescue from Arizona Humane Society.  She had a benign tumor on her neck, vision problems and needed a dental.  Thanks to our wonderful donors and a grant from Phoenix Animal Care Coalition, we were able to get all of Mini’s medical needs attended to.    Mina is such a sweet dog and has never shown any sign of aggression.  Indeed she is so appreciative of being loved and taken care of.     Mina loves her people but also needs another dog in her forever home.  With Mina’ s relatively new loss of sight in her one eye she looks to the other dog in her foster home to be her buddy and make her feel secure.   Mina has been introduced to a cat and she ignored the cat.  Mi na will do best in a calm settled household.  She is not a good fit for a home with younger children.  Mina’s favorite spot is beside you and secondly anywhere she can sit in the sun. Because MIna has limited vision she cannot go to a family with an unfenced pool in the backyard. It is simply too risky for her. Mina has difficulty with her depth perception so stairs are a challenge for her as well. One level living is ideal for this gal.   Mina likes to play a bit first thing in the morning and she loves to take a daily walk and then nap time. Her foster mom walks her for about 1.5 miles.  She will walk on cold days but would appreciate a jacket or sweater.  Mina is curious about what is outside of the gates, cars passing by, squirrels etc.  She would likely run out to explore out of curiosity if given the opportunity. So she will need a fenced yard with no escape possibilities. Mina is not very vocal so she could do well in a condo, apartment or townhome. Mina is smart, picks up on routines quickly.  Mina is house and crate trained. She has never had an accident in her foster home.  She is not crazy about the crate at night. she fusses a little but once asleep she sleeps hard for 8 hours . Mina is blind in one eye, and is experiencing some decline in her hearing. Mina is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, had her teeth cleaned and was also recently groomed.   Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think she could be the right fit for you, please complete an adoption application*: Adoption Application - Help A Dog Smile .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. February 29, 2024, 10:30 am
