Story
Meet the adorable Louis Vuitton!! Louis is a 7 yr old, 7 lb neutered Poodle Mix. He’s fully vaccinated, free of parasites and microchipped. Louis Vuitton like his namesake found himself alone on the streets at the young age of 7. We don’t suspect he was mistreated as the famous Louis Vuitton was in real life. He shows signs he was well taken care of by his previous owners. But they never came for him. He waited at the shelter for the normal stray hold before he came to UOH. His foster mom says this about him. Louis will be your number #1 fan. Wherever you go, he wants to be right there by your side or on your lap. In other words he’s what we in the rescue world say is a “velcro dog”. He’s sweet, cute, silly and loves attention. His vision isn’t perfect and he sometimes runs into things. But he will be faithful to you if you are his human. We are working on his potty training skills. Louis doesn’t know how to ask to go outside, but he’s learning. He does love squeaky toys and pup cups. He’s not a picky eater and takes meds like a champ. He’s a little unsettled in the car for a few minutes but quickly calms down. He had some anxiety with the groomer but it was manageable. He will require grooming appointments every 6-8 weeks to eliminate any painful mats and keep him looking handsome. Loud noises like fireworks or police sirens frighten him. His first instinct in these situations may cause him to bolt so a harness is highly encouraged. He’s good with other dogs and indifferent to cats, mostly he ignores them. He would succeed in a home with older children who understand his inability to see. Older adults with mobility issues would not make a great fit for Louis. Louis is scheduled for a dental at the end of the month. To be considered for adopting Louis we expect a detailed application with plans you have to help him be successful and feel safe. He will not be a good fit for someone gone for long periods of time. NorCal Poodle Rescue Male   8 years old   4.9 pounds   $300.00 or *Senior for Senior Discount Hi, I am Teddy, and they say good things come in small packages! I am the perfect lap size and I love to cuddle up. I am frisky for my age. I am really smart and will come if you call me. I was found by a good Samaritan abandoned in a parking lot. That was a scary time, but they took care of me and got me to the right place. I need someone who knows how amazing I am and to be my hero. I want a home of my own.  They think I am housebroken, based on my kennel manners.  *If you are a senior over 65 Teddy is available for the senior for senior program with a $100.00 adoption fee. Teddy says- us Seniors have to stick together! Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you if you are a math.  We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. NorCal Poodle Rescue Male    1 year   12 pounds  $350.00 My name is Charlie. I am in search of a new best friend. I am delightful and don’t quite understand how I ended up here, but I was told it was through no fault of my own.  I just turned 1 and I have all the usual puppy energy that a young dog has. I like to go for walks, play and have a fun time. I think it would be great to be in home with kids I could play with. My surrendering owner said I was happy all the time and playful.  Maybe kids over 10 because I am on the small side.  I need someone who is really active and is willing to help me be all I can be! Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you if you are a match. We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. Story
Mochi is an incredible rescued mini poodle available for adoption. She's an adorable 7lb girl and about 2 years old and spayed. She love people and dogs. She walks well on a leash, rides beautifully in a car, well mannered at home and not destructive. Sleeps quietly in her crate and loves to be held and snuggled as much as you want. She loves sun bathing during the day and travels well on an airplane. She knows to go potty on command "Go Potty" and can use the doggie door. She's almost completely potty trained. She doesn't shed and does not bark excessively. She's an all around very happy good girl so easy to have. Would do well with another dog around her size or a bigger gentle dog, or she can be an only dog. Let me know if you're interested. Please fill out the application form online at www.hi5dogrescue.org or text :510-987-6310, please share, thanks

Story
Hi, I'm Nova. I am a sweet girl looking for a loving home. Even though I am vision impaired it doesn't stop me from loving on my humans (I love to sleep next to someone), going on walks around neighborhood, playing with other friendly dogs, and enjoying life just like any dog would. I am looking for a loving home with a regular routine to help me navigate life easier (once a blind dog maps out the home they can move around comfortably but will be confused by frequent changes). If you ae looking for a lovebug with special needs, look no further! Primary Color: White Weight: 9.8 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Charlie was picked up near the beginning of January and was taken to the San Martin Shelter. He was a stray who was pretty matted and dirty so the shelter shaved him down. Charlie waited for someone to come and find him but no one came. He was adopted but was returned the next day. Another couple came and took Charlie to foster. They discovered something very important about Charlie. Charlie is deaf!!! Charlie didn't know any deaf dog signs to be able to communicate with humans and he had no way of telling humans that! The couple who fostered him felt that they were not experienced with teaching him so they called CIW. We have worked with another deaf little poodle and felt we could help Charlie. He has already learned some command signs and is learning others. He is a very smart little boy who just wants to please and to be loved. He is a healthy little who is current on his vaccinations, is neutered, and  is microchipped with lots of puppy energy. Charlie needs a family who want to spend lots of time with this little guy and give him time to learn how to communicate. Is that your family?. Please note: Charlie (two) is a Special Needs dog.Charlie (two) should got to a home with an existing dogCharlie (two) has some separation anxietyNeeds a securely fenced yardMore information & application [ts=1714410090&src=aap]

Story
7 year old, 22 lb OBESE Lhasa Apso Mix SPAYED FEMALE for ADOPTION  Meet Zucchini Produce !     Zucchini is a ~7 year old Lhasa Apso mix that comes to us from Contra Costa Animal Services.  That sounds like a big range, but she acts like a 4 year old but possibly due to neglect seemed to be a bit older as far as her coat and teeth looked   Zucchini is currently 22 lbs and (like a lot of us) needs to shed a few lbs to be a healthy weight. She needs to be around 18 lbs is what the vet tells us. She is a little picky but obviously likes to eat (sounds like me!).   She is a huge fan of Puppachinos and she gets a bite or two after a long week of eating healthy. She is really good about taking any meds in some wet food. She also loves the sound of her own voice so an apartment would not be the best setting for her long term.     She does have dry eye and will need eye drops for life (a combo of prescription and OTC).    This is what her foster mom has to say about this sweet girl -   'Zucchini is a very active dog. She’s a good girl, very sweet and she loves praise. All she wants to do is play with the other dogs in her foster home. She can be pushy and doesn’t know the meaning of boundaries. We highly recommend training classes to help her learn manners and succeed. She’s super happy and loves to go on walks. Once she sees the leash in your hand she gets crazy happy.   She should lose a few pounds and actually she has since she’s been in her foster home.   She will follow you everywhere if she loves you. She’s not a Velcro dog but she wants to be close enough to you to see you. She loves to give you kisses and receiving lots of belly rubs in return. She HATES staying the kennel and can be very vocal. Car rides are not a favorite of hers either but she’s learning.   We don’t recommend a home with cats because she will chase them. Since she needs help learning her limits, older children in the home is also recommended. She freely uses the potty pads and if taken out she will do her business. She has not yet learned to go out on her own.    Her foster mom says she is spoiled and likely lived in a home who did not give her any boundaries or make her share. She needs to learn boundaries and that the world does not revolve around Zucchini -- as in she came to live at your home and not the other way around   Zucchini is being fostered in the Sac Area in Northern CA.   If you are interested in adding this pretty pup to your family, please send us a detailed email to beourpet@gmail.com If you are unable to adopt but would like to help, please ***SHARE THIS POST***  GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: HATES THEM Leash Trained?: Yes but needs practice Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: Low to no shed Good with cats?: Probably not Good with dogs?: Yes but only if they will play and allow her to be the boss Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: yes Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 12 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee.
